Student answer (Band 5.0)
Environment is damaged by human beings. That is why we need to save it. There are various way to protect it. Some people have decided to reduce the number of times they fly every year or to stop flying altogether. There has been considerable debate on this statement whether it has merits or demerits.
Some people believe that the pollution is caused by man activities, so, it our responsibility to reduce it. Moreover, if a fraction of people decided to reduce their fly every year then it would be beneficial for our country. As we know, it emission number of gases in atmosphere. It will be reduced and atmosphere can be clean. First and foremost, the gases that effect environment may reduce.
On the flip side, the members of public think that it has few drawbacks. Since it causes some trouble to individuals. They are not able to attend many functions on the year and they miss it. For instance, they may get lose in their business. Because of, they do not able to attend many meetings. In addition, it is also lose for air companies in millions.
A survey conducted by prestigious newspaper of big country say that it is not considered as beneficial for society welfare.
Different people have different notions regarding this statement but I have sound reasons to advocate that although it has certain advantages to environment yet it has more drawbacks. In my opinion, there is many other ways to protect environment rather then this way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address the topic by presenting environmental benefits and disadvantages for individuals and businesses, and your final position—that the disadvantages are greater—is identifiable. However, the position is not consistently supported: the environmental case is mostly general, while the claims about missed functions and business losses are not explained with clear examples. The newspaper survey is vague and does not establish what was measured or how it supports your view. The response also contains 232 words, below the required 250; the 19 words copied from the prompt are not counted. Develop each main point with a specific explanation or example, and make the comparison between environmental gains and practical costs more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “On the flip side” and “In addition” help indicate contrast and addition. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear, and some links feel mechanical or incomplete. For example, “Because of, they do not able to attend many meetings” does not connect smoothly to the preceding point, while “A survey…” appears without a clear explanation of how it relates to the argument. The conclusion repeats the general contrast rather than drawing together the reasons. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example directly to its claim, and ensure pronouns and linking phrases refer unambiguously to earlier ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “pollution,” “atmosphere,” “environment,” and “drawbacks,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to interpret. Examples include “reduce their fly,” “it emission number of gases,” and “get lose in their business.” The phrase “prestigious newspaper of big country” is also vague rather than precise. Aim to learn common topic collocations and choose specific terms for the effects you mean, such as emissions, air travel, and business losses. This would make your argument clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a conditional beginning “if a fraction of people…” and a concession in “although it has certain advantages…”. However, the range remains limited, and errors are frequent enough to make several sentences difficult to understand. Examples include “There are various way,” “it our responsibility,” “it emission number,” and “there is many other ways,” which show problems with agreement, missing verbs or articles, and sentence construction. The sentence beginning “Because of” is also incomplete. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking verb forms, agreement, and punctuation before combining ideas.
