Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the question and state a clear overall view: environmental protection is more important, while flying should be reserved for necessary trips. Relevant points include reduced pollution and greenhouse gases, alongside the role of air travel in business and trade. However, several claims are asserted rather than explained. For example, the link between avoiding flights and preventing natural disasters is unclear, and the Nepal glacier example is difficult to interpret. The disadvantages for individuals are also only briefly covered, while the business discussion is more developed. To strengthen the response, explain the practical effects on people and companies and support each main point with a clear, specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the shift between benefits and disadvantages, and the final paragraph restates your position. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from pollution to global warming, sea levels and a Nepal example without clearly connecting each point. Linking phrases such as “Moreover” and “In addition” are used, but some connections are mechanical or do not show the precise relationship between ideas. Improve this by grouping related points, using clear topic sentences, and explaining how each example supports the claim before moving on.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “greenhouse gas,” “air quality,” “global economy,” and “trade,” so the reader can identify the main subject of each paragraph. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms make meaning less clear, such as “make safety from Natural Disasters,” “rise of see level decrease,” and “environmental benefical.” Spelling errors—including “bussinesses,” “enviornment,” and “journy”—are noticeable, and repeated use of “environment,” “business,” and “beneficial” limits variety. Build a more accurate set of topic phrases and check spelling and collocations. For example, describe flights as “contributing to emissions” and explain that reduced emissions can “slow sea-level rise.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer structures, including “if stop flying altogether that can make…” and “If our future environment will be safe so we can develop…,” and you use basic contrast and cause-and-effect patterns. However, many sentences contain errors in verb forms, sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation. Examples include “Many people are now try,” “Earo planes and jats are pollute,” and “Businesses and technology expanding.” Some clauses are incomplete or joined unclearly, as in “Businesses and technology expanding world wide because…” These errors often make the reader pause to work out the intended meaning. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with correct subjects and verbs; also check capitalisation and sentence boundaries.
