Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, some people are minimizing to fly per year or eliminated their flight journey. This essay will cover the benefits of this act and does this effects the individuals or businesses developments become coming to a conclusion.

On the one hand, major motive to avoid or minimize the flights is to save the enviroment from pollution and have a clean enviroment. This thought is true to some extents that harmfull gasses and burning of fossil fuel from huge aircraft effect the enviroment in various types of pollutions such as, noise, enviromental and some others. Reducing or stop taking flights from individuals will not affect or save the atmosphere at that level of what is required but still something is better then nothing and this part of act will plays a positive role in the eco system. Lower emission of carbon and other harmful gasses will have direct impact on the atmosphere.

In constrast, Although the eco system is surrounded by pollution especially air pollution which is the root cause of global warming but keeping that aside eliminating the flight or to lower the number of fligths will end up in a losses of businesses and individuals. For instance, If you have business in multiple countries and you have stopped flying through this there will be a major business loss in terms of financial and growth.

In conclusion, Avoiding or reducing the flight is a positive attitude and it will contribute in the enviroment but not as much what is required. Instead, there should be more focused on making machinery that emits less emission in the air so that there will be less loss of individuals and businesses.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both the environmental benefits and the disadvantages for individuals and businesses, and your conclusion gives a clear preference for reducing flights while developing cleaner aircraft. The point that fewer flights would lower emissions is relevant, as is the example of a business operating in several countries. However, the position is not consistently clear: the introduction says the essay will discuss effects but does not state whether the benefits outweigh the disadvantages, and the conclusion shifts towards technological solutions without directly weighing the two sides. Several ideas remain under-developed, particularly how reduced flying affects individuals and how substantial the environmental benefit might be. State your judgement directly and support each main point with a fuller explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and disadvantages, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of the argument. You also use signposts such as “On the one hand,” “In contrast,” and “In conclusion.” However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening promises to discuss “does this effects,” which does not clearly preview the argument, and the long sentence beginning “Although the eco system…” combines contrasting points in a confusing way. The business example is relevant but could be linked more explicitly to the disadvantage being discussed. Use clearer topic sentences and divide complex ideas into shorter, logically connected sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “fossil fuel,” “carbon,” “emission,” “global warming,” and “financial,” so the reader can understand the subject and the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning less clear. For example, “minimizing to fly” and “flight journey” are not natural expressions, while “save the environment from pollution” and “losses of businesses” are imprecise. Spelling errors such as “enviroment,” “harmfull,” and “fligths” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of natural topic phrases and check spelling; aim for precise expressions such as “reduce air travel,” “cut aviation emissions,” and “financial losses.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional example about a business operating in several countries. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction can make the reader work to understand your meaning. Examples include “This essay will cover … and does this effects,” “this part of act will plays,” and “there will be a losses.” The sentence beginning “In constrast, Although…” also has an unclear structure and punctuation. Practise forming accurate clauses before adding complexity: for example, use “This action will play a positive role” and “there will be losses.” Proofread each sentence for subject–verb agreement and a complete, logical structure.
