Student answer (Band 5.0)

The environment benefits is now adays become considerable topic for debate where some people point out they will reduce the number of times they fly every year or some people belive to stop flying altogether.

In my point of view ,we should have to take steps looking forward to pollution inclinement now a days due to aeronautic vehicle this will be excellent step we can take.

I believe this will give us imersive benefits because for example one flight is boarding for hawai it consume tons of oil and exahust pollution in the air from this air gets polluted and sometimes large number of pollution cause acidic rains to avoid this we have to reduce the number of fly travelling without any purpose every year but i denied to stop flying altogether i am not agree with this particular point because flying is must necessary for bussiness purposes , study purpose or migration if stop flying carries huge loss to many bussiness , aeronautic industries may lead to lay offs also some aerospace company will get shutdown.

but the yes if we focus on reducing flying which generates less demand also it save resources and best way to protect enviornment also for example every day around more than 25000 flights get take off each flights consume tons of petrol during take off and landing which also lead to resource shortage in short time.

in conclusion my opinion is we dont have to stop flying altogether we only have to make down edge in line of flying all business depends on demand and supply if there will more demand they will serve you more in which they will have to use more resoures in short we have to keep demand less

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and make your position clear: reducing flights is beneficial, but stopping altogether would harm businesses and people who need to travel for work, study, or migration. The examples of fuel use, pollution, and possible job losses are relevant. This fits the criterion because the main ideas answer the prompt, although some are developed more fully than others. For instance, the environmental case is supported with claims about emissions and acid rain, while the disadvantages are listed rather than explained with a specific example. The point about reducing demand is repeated in the conclusion instead of being extended. To strengthen the response, explain how reduced flying would produce meaningful environmental gains and weigh these against the practical costs more explicitly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, supporting discussion, and conclusion, and the reader can follow your overall position. You also use linking expressions such as “for example,” “but,” and “in conclusion.” However, progression between ideas is uneven, and several paragraphs contain multiple points joined into long, difficult-to-follow sentences. The shift from environmental benefits to business disadvantages in the third paragraph is abrupt, while the next paragraph returns to environmental benefits without a clear transition. Some connections are repetitive, particularly the repeated emphasis on reducing demand and resource use. Organise the essay into clearer paragraphs, each with one main purpose, and use more precise links to show contrast and cause and effect.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “pollution,” “resources,” “business purposes,” and “lay offs,” and you communicate the central ideas despite a limited range. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to interpret: “pollution inclinement,” “imersive benefits,” and “make down edge” are unclear or unsuitable expressions. There is also repetition of “fly/flying,” “demand,” and “resources,” and some collocations are unnatural, such as “a flight is boarding for Hawaii.” These features fit a limited but minimally adequate range. Build a bank of accurate topic phrases, such as “reduce air travel,” “carbon emissions,” and “economic consequences,” and check spelling and collocation before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if there will more demand they will serve you more.” However, many sentences contain errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, which sometimes make the reader work to understand the intended meaning. For example, “The environment benefits is now adays become” combines incompatible verb forms, and “one flight … it consume” has an agreement error. The long sentence beginning “I believe this will give us…” also joins several clauses without clear punctuation. These patterns show that complex structures are being attempted but are not yet controlled consistently. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then build longer sentences with clear clause boundaries and correct verb forms.
