Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and give a clear overall view in the conclusion: the environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages. Relevant points include aircraft emissions, fossil-fuel use, tourism-related litter, and difficulties for businesses operating across countries. However, some points are more fully explained than others. The environmental discussion links emissions with warming and drought, while the business paragraph mainly says companies may struggle to maintain branches and could close; it would be stronger with a specific explanation or example of how reduced flying affects business operations. The opening also presents the issue as a general pros-and-cons discussion rather than directly framing the comparison. Develop the disadvantages for individuals more clearly and keep the weighing of benefits against costs explicit throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs focused mainly on benefits, a paragraph on business disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing is generally understandable, and signposts such as “At the outset,” “Moreover,” and “On the contrary” help show relationships between points. At times, however, the links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Addition to this” does not form a natural transition, and “As a result” is used where the connection between the preceding idea and the consequence is not fully explained. The paragraph about fuel use also shifts to tourism and litter without a clear bridge. Use more precise referencing and transitions, and group each paragraph around one main idea to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “harmful gases,” “global warming,” “fossil fuels,” “tourism,” and “economy.” These choices show awareness of the subject, but inaccurate word choice, collocation, word forms, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “overcome the time of fly,” “the demolish occured,” “trousit,” and “resposibilties.” Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “commuting” for air travel and “fossils” for fossil fuels. Aim for accurate, natural phrases rather than more elaborate wording: for instance, describe people as reducing the number of flights they take, and refer to damage to tourist attractions. Careful proofreading would also improve spelling consistency.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple sentences and attempts at complex structures, including clauses beginning with “Since,” “Although,” and “If.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main argument can usually be understood. However, errors in sentence formation, agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation recur. For example, “Some individuals opines” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “harmful gasses are emit” uses an incorrect passive verb form. “Although it come with benefits” also has agreement and sentence-structure problems, and “As a result , alteration in temperature noticed” lacks a complete, correctly formed clause. Practise building complete sentences with accurate subject–verb patterns and passive forms, then check punctuation and sentence boundaries. This will make your ideas clearer without sacrificing complexity.
