Student answer (Band 4.5)

Most people have decided to minimize the number of times they flew every year or stop flying together. Also there are some enviornmental benifits this development for individuals and businessess. If an individual reduce the number of time he fly every year he can save his time and money instead of traveling in a group.

However, If an individual reduce the number of flight there are enviornmental benefits for this development he can reduce the travel cost, the time he spend in flight. Also for businessess the travel expenses and work lose will be low if one person travel instead of whole team where there is not much need of team. For example, if there is business meeting in other country the business need to send a solo insted of all the management team it can save expenses and also work loss.

Although, there are disadvantage of individual travel he have not his work mate to enjoy travel and the culture of countries, a person enjoy more in his coleague because, they are more familiar with each other. Also there is disadvantage for businesses to travel altogether in every year so there will be rise in cost of travel expenses and it can reduce work effeciency. For example, If the whole workers of a bussiness travel more in a single year than an individual it will be loss for an organization not for an single person.

In conclusion, there are benefits for individual by number of time he travel and there are some complications for businessess to fly together.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response touches on environmental benefits and possible disadvantages for individuals and businesses, but it does not clearly answer the central question of whether the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. The opening says people can save time and money, and the business example concerns sending one representative rather than a team; these points are mainly about reducing travel costs, not the environmental impact of flying less. The discussion of enjoying travel with colleagues is relevant to individual disadvantages, but it is not developed or weighed against environmental gains. The conclusion repeats that there are benefits and complications without stating a clear overall judgement. To strengthen the response, explain how fewer flights reduce emissions, develop the consequences for people and businesses, and explicitly compare the two sides.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic paragraph structure, with an introduction, discussion of benefits, a paragraph beginning “Although” for disadvantages, and a conclusion. Examples also help signal the intended direction of the discussion. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the first two paragraphs repeat the idea that individuals save time and money, while the environmental focus is not carried through. Some linking is awkward or unclear: “Although” introduces a paragraph that also discusses business costs, and “Also” does not make the relationship between the ideas precise. References such as “this development” and “there” can be hard to interpret. Organise the essay around clear, distinct points and use transitions that show comparison and cause and effect more accurately.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “travel expenses,” “business meeting,” “management team,” and “work loss,” so the general subject is usually identifiable. However, vocabulary is repetitive, particularly “travel,” “business,” and “individual,” and several word choices or collocations make the meaning unclear. For example, “stop flying together” does not express stopping flying altogether, and “send a solo” is not a natural way to describe sending one representative. Spelling errors such as “enviornmental,” “benifits,” and “effeciency” also weaken control. Use more precise terms for the environmental issue and business consequences, and check spelling and common collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts both simple and more extended sentence forms, including conditional clauses such as “if there is business meeting in other country” and a contrast introduced by “Although.” The main ideas can generally be understood, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction are frequent. Examples include “If an individual reduce,” “the time he spend,” and “there are disadvantage”; these should use appropriate subject–verb agreement and plural forms. The long sentence beginning “For example, if there is business meeting…” also lacks clear grammatical control and punctuation. Practise accurate conditional patterns and build longer sentences from correctly formed clauses, paying particular attention to articles and agreement.
