Student answer (Band 5.0)
In today's world, where everything is just a one click away from us. You can facetime anyone who is in any corner of the world; certainly, these are the miracles of the technologies. Following these trends people have started reducing flying on airplane or have totally avoided taking flights for the concern of environmental benefits. Undoubtedly, this matter has a double-edged sword. But I firmly believe that disadvantages of this habit outweigh the benefits. Which I will describe below.
From my perspective, this new trend challenges many beneficial aspects in every work field and personal reasons. Individuals are unable to feel the joy of travelling; they cannot observe the culture and foods of other countries this way. Watching documentaries only cannot fulfills the desire of feeling other nations culture it can be only accomplished by experiencing it. Professional fields would be so detrimentally affected by it. For instance, multinational business can never grow if the CEO of the company don’t handle the growth by himself professionally it can be managed but can never be surged. Although, Science has also developed the technologies to overcome the harmful effects caused by the flying crafts.
Proponents of avoiding flying believes that, Aeroplan’s and other flying crafts cause massive emission of carbon dioxide and produces many toxic gasses so everyone should avoid taking flights. However, personal and business matters can be resolved by technologies like videocalls and etc. For instance, In the time of COVID-19 everything collapsed at the time, but consequently every issue was resolved business were handled online in corporate sector task and works were assigned online and everything was under control by the time. So we should adopt the positive impacts of that time.
Consequently, I believe that new technologies may have reduced the importance of flying but I think travelling by plane have its own importance which can never be overcome. Everything has good and bad sides but, technology has overcome the harmful effects caused by flying.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear overall view that the disadvantages of reducing flights outweigh the environmental benefits, and you refer to both individual travel and business activity. However, the response only partially develops the comparison the question asks for. The environmental case is briefly acknowledged through emissions, but you do not explain how reducing flights benefits the environment or weigh that benefit against the costs. The claims that travel brings cultural enjoyment and that a CEO must personally manage company growth are relevant starting points, but they need clearer explanation and specific support. The COVID-19 example instead suggests that online work can replace some flights, which weakens your stated position unless you explain why this does not outweigh the disadvantages. Develop and balance both sides more directly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can identify your general position. However, the progression between ideas is not consistently clear. The first body paragraph moves from personal travel to business growth and then to technology without showing how these points connect. The paragraph beginning “Proponents of avoiding flying” presents the opposing view, but its COVID-19 example supports the usefulness of avoiding travel rather than your main argument. Linking expressions such as “Undoubtedly,” “However” and “Consequently” are used, but they do not always express the relationship between the ideas accurately. Aim for one main purpose per paragraph, use clearer topic sentences, and make each example explicitly support the point being made.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “environmental benefits,” “carbon dioxide,” “multinational business” and “detrimentally affected.” This shows some ability to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, the range is limited by repeated general wording and several inaccurate or unnatural choices that can make meaning difficult to follow, such as “surged” for business growth and “flying crafts” for aircraft. Phrases such as “one click away” and “good and bad sides” are also informal or imprecise for this essay. Work on accurate collocations and more precise terms for emissions, travel and business impacts; this will make your arguments clearer as well as more academic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “where,” “if” and “although.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “In today’s world, where everything is just a one click away from us” is a sentence fragment, while “Watching documentaries only cannot fulfills” has incorrect verb form. There are also agreement and tense problems in “Proponents … believes” and “travelling by plane have its own importance,” as well as sentence-boundary problems such as “But I firmly believe … . Which I will describe below.” Practise complete sentence construction, subject–verb agreement and consistent verb forms, then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
