Student answer (Band 5.0)

Many people have made thier mind to minimise thier travel by Aeroplane or don't consider it suitable travel option. Travelling by air have many benefits and also have some draw backs. I will give reason for both point of views.

Travelling by air is one of the fastest way to reach your destination in minimum possible time. It is also environment friendly because it does not release toxic gasses through emission in to the environment and also prevent from noise pollution. As they have separate walk way and passenger boarding which does not create any traffic blockage. It is convenient for travellers to use the designated boarding area which saves alot of time. Their luggage is also handled by the staff so it is also a relief not to worry about their stuff.

On the other hand using Aeroplanes as only mode of transport is quite expensive and not every one can afford it. It also affect business of local transport services and local vendors at different bus stops or railway station. For short travel distances travellers should consider local options available in the city to support local community and boost their business. enjoy local food at bus stop, watching natural scenary from the window it's also a different kind of experience.

In my opinion, environmental benfits of this development will not outweigh the disadvantages for individuals and businesses. As it is not economical option to be considered by majority of the population. People always opt for pocket friendly option so local trasnport will always be their choice. If someone have important meeting scheduled or urgency of reaching to the destination they will definelty choose to travel by air.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear opinion in the final paragraph: you believe the environmental benefits do not outweigh the disadvantages, and you mention effects on individuals and local businesses. However, the response only partially addresses the central comparison because it does not explain the environmental benefits of reducing flights. Instead, the second paragraph describes supposed benefits of flying, including that it is “environment friendly,” which is inaccurate and does not support the question’s focus. The disadvantages are also asserted rather than developed: for example, the effect on local transport and vendors needs a clearer explanation of how fewer flights would affect them. To strengthen the response, directly compare reduced emissions with the practical and economic costs, using relevant examples and supporting your position throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to benefits, disadvantages, and a concluding opinion. Phrases such as “On the other hand” help signal a change in direction. However, the overall progression is not always clear because the first body paragraph discusses the advantages of flying rather than the environmental benefits of reducing it, so the argument does not build directly toward the conclusion. The introduction also promises “both point of views,” while the final position is not made clear until the last paragraph. Some links between ideas are abrupt, such as the shift from local transport to enjoying food and scenery. Organise the body around the task’s two sides and use clearer links to show how each example supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “environment,” “emission,” “local transport services,” and “business,” and the reader can generally understand your meaning. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the argument unclear. For instance, “environment friendly” is used to describe air travel, although the task concerns the environmental impact of flying, and “minimum possible time” is an awkward way to express speed. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “thier,” “benfits,” and “scenary.” Aim for more precise language about emissions and economic effects, and check spelling and common word combinations carefully. This would make your ideas clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the response is usually understandable. However, errors are frequent, and attempts at more complex structures are often faulty. Examples include “Travelling by air have many benefits,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “It also affect business,” which has the same agreement problem. In “If someone have important meeting scheduled,” the verb form and article are incorrect. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction, as in “not consider it suitable travel option.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause to interpret the meaning. Practise checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms, and build longer sentences from accurate clauses before adding complexity.
