Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, many people have made a trend to avoid travelling by aeroplanes every year or always. I agree with this notion due to environmental benefits of this development outweight its disadvantages for individuals and corporations.

To begin with environment saving concern is a crucial approach to save the planet from any uncertain dangers. In this modern era, airlines have significantly expand their airlines due to high demand of air travelling. It makes a layer of huge carbon dioxide at the boundaries of the Earth. Therefore, people are making aware about environment protection, so they decide to reduce the use of airlines except any emergency situation. Many people have started the use of train in case of domestic travel or some have stopped using airlines permanently. Consequently, these steps make environment far much clean than past. To explain it, when people stopped using aeroplane for travel, the AQI levels of many counties reducing every day due to less pollution caused by aeroplanes. The result is that, people feel clean air and stay away from diseases that can spread through polluted air. Apart from that, birds and other flying habitats also feel safe in such a clean environment as they can live a place suitable to them. For example, recently, the World Health Organisation reported that those countries where people are aware about the polution caused by aeroplanes, the presence diseases are relatively less than other countries.

Corporations and individuals who use airlines most of the times can faced many problems due to ristrictions of travelling by aeroplanes. To explicate, this can not be made a practical approach for such people because they have not enough time to spend on travel. This trend may reflect badly on business because time play a major role in business and being late sometimes results huge losses.

To conclude it, by considering the evidence and benefits of reduce travel by flighs, it is clear that this approach is benefitial for the environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You give a clear position in the introduction and conclusion: you believe the environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages. The first body paragraph supports this with relevant points about emissions, air quality, health and wildlife, while the second acknowledges difficulties for frequent travellers and businesses. This addresses both sides of the question. However, the disadvantages are much less fully explained than the benefits, and the claim that reduced flying lowers disease levels is asserted rather than convincingly supported; the WHO example is also broad and lacks detail. To strengthen the response, explain more precisely how restrictions affect individuals as well as businesses, then weigh those costs against the environmental gains with a specific, credible example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting benefits and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing within the environmental paragraph is generally understandable, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Therefore” and “To conclude” help show the direction of the argument. However, some links feel mechanical, and the progression is weakened by unclear references such as “these steps” and “this approach.” The second body paragraph is brief and moves quickly from individuals to corporations without developing the connection. Use clearer topic sentences and transitions that show comparison, and organise each paragraph around one main point with explanation and an example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “carbon dioxide,” “environment protection,” “restrictions” and “domestic travel,” and the main ideas remain understandable. There are also some less common expressions, but several are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “made a trend,” “a layer of huge carbon dioxide,” “flying habitats,” and “presence diseases” do not convey the intended meanings clearly. Spelling errors such as “polution,” “ristrictions” and “benefitial” also reduce control. Aim for natural collocations and check word forms and spelling. For example, describe aviation as producing “large amounts of carbon emissions,” and refer to “wildlife habitats” rather than “flying habitats.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including cause-and-effect clauses with “Therefore” and “because,” and most of the argument can be followed. However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction occur across the response. Examples include “airlines have significantly expand,” “people are making aware,” “the AQI levels … reducing,” and “time play a major role.” The sentence beginning “To explain it” also has an unclear structure, while “Corporations and individuals … can faced” combines an incorrect modal pattern with a verb-form error. Review subject–verb agreement and the forms that follow modals, and edit each sentence for a complete, correctly linked structure. Greater accuracy in these patterns would make your ideas easier to read.
