Student answer (Band 6.0)

Excessive use of air travelling increased the environmental issues. Therefore, some people have decided to stop travelling by planes or limit the number of times they fly. I believe disadvantages of this new development outweigh its advantages. This essay will first explain that travelling by air can reduce the distance between families and increase the growth of businesses, followed by environmental problems can be managed by proper air control system.

Travelling by air saves time and people can be with their families in case of emergency. Many students are studying abroad and when they have break they want to spend time with their families. By travelling by plane they can be in their hometown in no time instead of wasting half of holidays in travelling by road. It is significantly important for global business meetings. Mostly working professionals have to travel from one country to another to attend meetings or conferences. For example, My uncle works in trade business and he has to travel to china once in a week for smooth importation of goods.

Air traffic cause enrionmental issues such as air pollution. Alongside, vehicles uses fossile fules also pollute the air and cause traffic problems. Although it is serious damage to quality of air but it can be reduced by developing a system. Heavy tax can be impose on private jets who are used more often for enjoyment. Domestic air traffic can be reduced by encourging people to travel within the country by road. To promote this, better traffic system is needed.

In conclusion, fast travel is really important in this world. it can reduce the time of travel and help businesses to grow. Whereas, envrionmental issues connected with air travel can be reduced with proper check and balance.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you believe the disadvantages of reducing flights outweigh the environmental benefits. You address both sides by discussing family visits and business travel, then arguing that pollution can be managed through controls. The examples about students studying abroad and your uncle’s trade work make the personal and commercial impacts relevant. However, the comparison is not fully developed: the environmental benefits of fewer flights are barely explained, and the claim that air pollution can be controlled is asserted rather than supported with evidence or detail. The proposed measures—taxing private jets and encouraging domestic road travel—also do not clearly show how they would offset the environmental gains from reducing flights overall. Develop this weighing of benefits against costs more explicitly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, the body paragraphs present supporting points, and the conclusion restates your position. Ideas generally follow a sensible order, and examples are placed alongside the points they support. Some linking is mechanical, however, particularly “This essay will first explain…” and “In conclusion,” while “Alongside” does not clearly express the relationship between air traffic and other vehicles. The introduction’s roadmap promises an explanation of environmental problems being managed, but the body gives only brief proposals, so the progression is not fully fulfilled. Improve cohesion by using more precise links between claims and by making each paragraph develop one central point through explanation and evidence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “environmental issues,” “global business meetings,” “fossil fuels,” and “traffic system,” which allows you to discuss the topic clearly. There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “smooth importation of goods.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “air travelling,” “reduce the distance between families,” and “proper air control system.” Spelling errors such as “enrionmental,” “fossile,” “encourging,” and “envrionmental” are noticeable and weaken the overall control of vocabulary. Aim for more natural topic phrases, such as “air travel,” “maintain family ties,” and “effective emissions controls,” and proofread carefully for spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the conditional phrase “when they have break” and the contrast introduced by “Although.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “Air traffic cause” needs subject–verb agreement, while “vehicles uses” has the same issue; “a system” and “a break” also require articles in their contexts. The sentence beginning “Although it is serious damage…” is not grammatically complete as written, and “Heavy tax can be impose” has an incorrect verb form. The conclusion also begins “it” with an unnecessary lowercase letter after a full stop. Work on agreement, articles, verb forms, and complete clause structure while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
