Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some people have decided to fly less yearly or to stop flying altogether. Although i believe that this method can have some environmental benefits like less number of diseases, but it does not outweigh the disadvantages for individuals and businesses.

People who travel oftently are considered to be more social. Firstly, they came across many different cultures and traditions. Travellers visit different countries and they explore their core values and also have conversation with locals. As a result, they develope strong communication skills. Moreover, Travellers are the most creative one, they survive different situations, handle different circumstance like weather and temparature. Furthermore, travelling boosts creativity, and enhance individual's problem solving skills. If people stop travelling then they will have several mental issues, because they will not be at pace and they will have less freedom and less places to visit. For the businesses like travel agencies, demand for flight ticket would fall. As result they will face major financial issues. Hotel booking will be decreased, people will lost their jobs because the resturants will have to close down or reduce staffs.

On the other hands, despite all these disadvantages, there are also some advantages. It brings certain benefits to environment. Flying less will reduce carbon footprints. Air travel produces greenhouse gas emissions. Additionaly, there will be less exposure to germs in crowded airports. The individual will have better consistent routine and less pressure from frequest travel schedules.

Overall, it is evident that disadvantages of flying less outweight the advantages in term of environment. I strongly believe that travelling allows to explore different areas of the word and some people tend to fee more relaxed in forested areas. I believe that environmental benefits are a strong factor, but mental health of peoples and financial condition of businesses will be more affected.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You give a clear answer to the question: you believe the environmental gains do not outweigh the costs, and you discuss effects on both individuals and businesses. The points about reduced emissions and possible job losses are relevant. However, some claims are not sufficiently connected to the comparison the task asks you to make. For example, “less number of diseases” is introduced as an environmental benefit, while reduced exposure to germs is a personal benefit; neither is explained or weighed against the climate impact. The discussion of travel’s benefits for social skills and creativity is also broad, and the conclusion adds forest visits without developing their relevance. Develop fewer points with clearer examples and directly compare their importance.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has an overall structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on disadvantages, a paragraph on benefits, and a concluding position. Linking expressions such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “On the other hands” help signal movement between ideas. However, the first body paragraph combines personal development, mental health, and several business consequences, so its progression is difficult to follow. Some links are mechanical or unclear: “As result” does not clearly connect the preceding point, and “On the other hands” is not used accurately. The conclusion also introduces a new idea about forested areas rather than drawing together the comparison. Group related points into focused paragraphs and use referencing and transitions that make the relationships between claims explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “carbon footprints,” “greenhouse gas emissions,” “communication skills,” and “financial issues.” These choices make the main subject clear, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make ideas less precise. For example, “less number of diseases” does not express the intended point naturally, while “more social” and “at pace” are unclear in context. There are also spelling errors such as “oftently,” “develope,” and “temparature.” Aim for precise, natural combinations and check spelling carefully; this would make your arguments easier to understand and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Although I believe…” and a conditional sentence beginning “If people stop travelling…”. Most of the meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. The opening has an incomplete contrast structure: “Although …, but …” should use either “Although …, …” or “…, but …”. There are also agreement and verb-form problems, as in “travelling boosts creativity, and enhance” and “people will lost their jobs,” as well as errors with articles and plurals in “the most creative one” and “less places.” Review clause structure, subject–verb agreement, and verb forms, then proofread for punctuation and sentence boundaries.
