Student answer (Band 6.0)

It has been decided by some individuals that they decrease their flight number yearly or even stop group flight. Though there are some people or businesses who face difficulties for this development, in my opinion, the environmental advantages of this outweigh the disadvantages.

There are several natural advantages of declined flight numbers. First of all, the engine of a plane required a huge amount of gas as fuel to fly which has a negative impact on environment. As the natural gas is limited on earth, too much gas produce would hamper the inner earth condition. Additionally, a large number of flight causes sound and air pollutions. Furthermore, while burning the gases in the zet engine produce carbon footprint in the air which is a serious existential threat for out planet.

On the other hand, because of less number of flight some individual or even many businesses can face several problems. For example, many people may have to visiting different countries frequently for various purposes such as medical checkups, education or blogging. As a result of a few flights, the ticket prices may increase and they face economical problems. Moreover, the international trades and businesses need to great access all over the world. Not only the business-persons need to move another places quickly but also some important equipment have to be transferred frequently.

In conclusion, there are both pros and cons of limited flights. Despite of having some drawbacks for business or individual, I believe that the environmental benefits outweigh these limitations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you believe the environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages. You address both sides, identifying emissions and pollution as environmental costs of flying, and explaining possible effects on travellers and international businesses. These points are relevant, but some are not fully developed. For instance, the claim that reduced flights could raise ticket prices is plausible, but you could explain why fewer services would lead to higher costs or give a concrete example. The environmental case also needs more precise explanation of how aviation emissions contribute to climate change. Developing these links and supporting your examples more specifically would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for environmental benefits and disadvantages, and a conclusion that restates your view. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Additionally,” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the main stages. However, some connections between ideas are mechanical or unclear. In the environmental paragraph, the point about natural gas being limited does not clearly explain the environmental harm caused by flying, and “As a result of a few flights” leaves the relationship between fewer flights and higher ticket prices under-explained. Use clearer cause-and-effect links and connect each supporting detail directly to its paragraph’s main point. This would make progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “carbon footprint,” “air pollution,” “international trades,” and “environmental advantages,” and you attempt some less common expressions. However, inaccurate word choice and collocation sometimes make the meaning awkward: “declined flight numbers,” “inner earth condition,” and “great access all over the world” are not natural ways to express these ideas. There are also spelling or form errors such as “zet engine” and “economical problems.” Aim for precise, conventional phrases and check spelling, especially for key topic terms. A more controlled range would help you express the environmental and economic arguments clearly without relying on awkward combinations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple sentences and more complex forms, including a concessive opening (“Though there are…”) and the paired structure “Not only… but also…”. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. For example, “they decrease their flight number” has an incorrect verb form and singular/plural pattern, while “many people may have to visiting” uses the wrong form after “have to.” Agreement and sentence construction also need attention in “a large number of flight causes” and “the engine of a plane required.” Practise matching subjects and verbs, using infinitives after modal or semi-modal expressions, and checking articles and plurals. Greater accuracy in these patterns would make your varied sentences more effective.
