Student answer (Band 6.0)
There are some people who think that they should reduce the number of flights they take annually inorder to maintain a healthy environment and prevent pollution such as noise and smog, In my opinion, I think that it is good for maintaining a healthy pollution free environment but it can have negative effects varying from person to different transportation businesses.
Most of the people that often take flights either go for a business trip or an important work, there are very less number of people who take regular flights and very less people prefer taking flights which are not meaningful to them, so by deciding not to take flights, one can potentially loose an important meeting or one cannot spend quality time with their family. for instance, majority of passengers in a flight either fly to meet their loved ones living in another country or spend their vacations with their family, some also need to attend business related meetings that are very important, and missing these important events can have a negative impact on their relations and work.
Moreover, it can also impact badly on the financial health of different airlines whose revenue fully depends on these flights, for example if people decide to stop taking flights, alot of workers or employes working in different airlines could potentially loose their job due to the bad financial conditions of the company, and eventually with these analytics the financial condition of the country as a whole can suffer. These conditions cannot only affect a particular company but can also affect everyone related to this business such as air hostesses, catering services, hotels, touring companies and much more.
In my opinion, people should take flights that are urgent to them by not completely cutting off all the flights, this would maintain a healthy environment and will not affect any individual or a company.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and state a position: reducing flights benefits the environment, but people should retain flights they consider urgent. The discussion of missed family visits and business meetings, followed by possible job losses across airlines and related services, is relevant. However, the environmental benefit is asserted rather than explained: pollution is mentioned in the introduction, but the essay does not develop how fewer flights would reduce emissions or other environmental harm. Some claims about passengers’ reasons for flying and the effects on a country’s finances are broad and need clearer support. To strengthen the response, explain the environmental gains and weigh them directly against the personal and business disadvantages before reaching your conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on individual and business disadvantages, and a concluding recommendation. Linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “for instance” help signal relationships between ideas. However, the progression is not fully balanced because the environmental side receives little development, and the second body paragraph moves from airline revenue to the national economy and then to related services without clearly explaining each link. Some references, such as “these conditions,” are broad, so the reader must infer exactly which effects are meant. Organise the discussion around the benefits and disadvantages, and use clearer transitions and references to show how each example supports your comparison.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “pollution,” “financial health,” “revenue,” and “business-related meetings,” which makes the main ideas understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “quality time” and “financial condition.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or informal, including “healthy pollution free environment,” “loose an important meeting,” and “alot of workers.” Repetition of “important” and “negative effects” also limits precision. Choose more natural academic phrasing, check spelling, and vary repeated terms. More precise vocabulary for environmental impacts, such as emissions and carbon footprint, would also help you explain the central benefit more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “who,” “that,” and “if,” and your meaning is generally understandable. Some sentences, however, contain several grammatical and punctuation problems. For example, the opening sentence joins ideas with a comma and then begins “In my opinion” with an inappropriate capital; the sentence beginning “Most of the people” also runs through several claims without clear sentence boundaries. There are errors in articles, agreement, and sentence construction, as in “there are very less number of people” and “people … could potentially loose their job.” Use shorter, controlled sentences where needed, and check punctuation, agreement, and article use when revising complex sentences.
