Student answer (Band 5.0)
Individuals have decided to stop using aeroplanes as a meduim of transportion or reduce the usage of it yearly. While, there are certain drawbacks to to this trend, i believe that its advantages significantly outweigh its disadvantages.
One of the major advantage, aeroplane companies uses power fuel is which is the purest form of the fossil fuel to reduce the fumes or any waste generated by engines to reduce pollution and it also reduces the time to travel substanially. travelling domestically can be altered with any other mode of transportion but going to other country is very difficult as it takes hours or even days to reach the destination, using flights to fly to other country can help reaching there in time and it would be comfortable comparatively. For instance, visiting to nearby places, buses or any other mode of transportion can be utilised whereas, going abroad is different story because the distance significantly increases hence the better alternative is using aeroplanes.
Another benefit is the comfort and facilities air agencies provide, people travelling through it would not feel tired, air hostess visits once in a while to provide food and other amenities. the seats are comfortable and spacious with a designated space to keep your luggage. To exemplify , travelling through buses or via any vehicle can be hectic if the distance to cover is long, meanwhile food and other resources are to be bought seperately if they are available, preferring aeroplane resolves this issues.
To conclude, even though there might be some drawbacks to it but in my prespective the merits outweigh the dismerits because flying by air is the most convinient way to travel across different countries comparatively and pollution is one of the global issue contributed by many factors, removing one of them would not be sufficient to cure the global problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a clear opinion in the introduction and conclusion: you believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. However, the response only partly addresses the question because it mainly explains why flying is convenient, rather than weighing the environmental benefits of reducing flights against the effects on individuals and businesses. The claim that aircraft use “the purest form of the fossil fuel” is unclear and does not explain how fewer flights benefit the environment. The conclusion also argues that reducing flying would not solve pollution, but does not compare this benefit with specific costs to businesses or travellers. Develop both sides directly, using accurate environmental reasoning and relevant examples, to make the response more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas within each paragraph generally relate to travel convenience. However, progression is limited because both body paragraphs focus on the advantages of flying, while the environmental issue and disadvantages are not organised into a balanced discussion. Some linking is awkward or repetitive: “For instance” and “To exemplify” introduce similar examples, and “whereas” is used where the relationship between ideas is not clear. The opening “While” clause is also left disconnected from the main sentence by punctuation. Organise the body around the task’s two sides and use clear references and transitions to show how each point supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some vocabulary relevant to transport and travel, including “mode of transportation,” “destination,” “amenities” and “pollution,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited by repeated references to “transportation,” “travel” and “comfortable,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear. For example, “power fuel” and “the purest form of the fossil fuel” do not clearly describe aircraft fuel, while “air agencies” is not the natural term for airlines. Spelling errors such as “meduim,” “substanially,” “seperately” and “convinient” are noticeable. Build a more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations so that key claims are expressed clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including a concession in the introduction and longer sentences with “whereas” and “because.” Meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence construction and agreement occur often enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “One of the major advantage, aeroplane companies uses…” has an incomplete opening phrase and faulty agreement, while “preferring aeroplane resolves this issues” has problems with the subject, article and plural form. There are also punctuation and capitalisation issues, such as starting “travelling” and “the seats” with lowercase letters after full stops, and separating “While” from its main clause. Practise accurate clause construction and review agreement, articles and sentence boundaries.
