Student answer (Band 5.0)

It's ofter argued that environment is facing a lot of issues because of the human activities and mode of transport necessary. Consequently, some people decided to decrease the number of time they fly or to abolish flying completely. As fas i'm concern, this decision will effect positively the envirenment for sure, and this could be for several reason.

One major reason why this will benifit the envirenment is due to the quatity of gasoline the plane will use evey time it flies, so reducing it will make a less need of it at least in planes.

Furthermore, the atmespher get a bad pollution because of thi flights, there is no way to stop it since the plane is on the sky, the only solution is to reduce it.

Last and not least, planes in general are not easy to make, it take a lot of materials and hurt the envirenmt so bad every they need to make one or even to fix it.

Eventhough this can not be enough to heal the envirenment, because using trainsv cars or any other transport mode will always have bad results. However, it's less that what the plane could do to the nature.

To conclude, although the envirenment needs more than just reduce flight to heal of this pollution, but this still a great first step to protect our plane, and this is because it will reduce using material to make plans, also reduce the use of gasoline, and finally protect the atmosphere from polluted air.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give a clear overall view that reducing flights benefits the environment, and you offer relevant reasons: aircraft fuel use, air pollution, and the materials needed to build and repair planes. However, the task asks whether these benefits outweigh disadvantages for both individuals and businesses. Your response focuses almost entirely on environmental benefits and does not explain the costs or practical disadvantages for travellers or businesses, so the comparison is only minimally addressed. The points about fuel and pollution are also asserted rather than supported with specific explanation or examples. To strengthen the response, state explicitly why the environmental gains outweigh—or do not outweigh—the effects on people and companies, then develop both sides with a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a sequence of supporting points, a concession, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow your general position. You also use signposting such as “Furthermore,” “Last and not least,” and “To conclude.” However, the progression is somewhat mechanical, and the body paragraphs are not clearly separated into distinct arguments. The concession beginning “Eventhough this can not be enough” is difficult to connect to the preceding points, while “However” does not clearly establish what is being contrasted. Group the environmental reasons into a focused paragraph, then use a separate paragraph to discuss disadvantages and explain your comparison. Clearer links between claims and explanations would improve the flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “gasoline,” “atmosphere,” “pollution,” “materials,” and “transport mode,” so the subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several spelling errors or inaccurate word choices make the writing less clear, for example “ofter,” “quatity,” “envirenment,” and “plans” where you mean “planes.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “a bad pollution,” “heal the environment,” and “protect our plane.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “aviation emissions” and “aircraft manufacturing” would help you express the environmental argument more clearly without relying on repeated references to the environment.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple statements and longer sentences, including a concession with “although” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in basic sentence construction occur frequently enough to make some ideas difficult to follow. For example, “the atmespher get a bad pollution” has problems with subject–verb agreement and sentence structure, while “it take a lot of materials” also needs agreement. The opening sentence and the final sentence beginning “although” are awkwardly constructed, and several clauses are joined without clear grammatical control. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete clause structures, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
