Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, a growing number of people choosen to fly less or to avoid flying together. While this trend has some drawbacks for individuals and bussinesses but i believe that the environmental benefits are more important.
On the one hand, reducing air travels is very good for environment. Firstly, it can reduce carbon emmision because airplanes produce a lot of CO2 andother harmful gases. These gases cause global warming and climate change. If people fly less pollution will decrease and planrt will be cleaner. Secondly, aeroplanes produce a lot of noise pollution and if it fly less the people near airports can breath in fresh air and noise pollution can be decreases. So, protecting the environment is the main reason for this development.
On the other hand, reducing air travels has some disadvantages for individuals and businesses. For individual, they can easily go to another country with less effort if the plane fly less it can be difficult to travel by train or bus. For businesses, some companies need face to face meetindgs to make the deal. If employee do not travel it will difficult for comoanies to make big deal. It can also a bad effect for travel agencies. However, I think technology like Zoom and Teams can solve these problems beause people can have online meetings.
In conclusion, although not flying or less flying have some disadvantages for people and businesses. From my perspective, environmental benefits outweigh these problems because protecting the environment is more necessary for our future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction—environmental benefits are more important—and is maintained in the conclusion. You address both sides of the question, identifying emissions and noise as benefits, and travel difficulties, business meetings, and effects on travel agencies as disadvantages. This covers the task, but the support is uneven: the environmental points are explained through general effects, while the business and individual disadvantages are mostly asserted rather than illustrated. The suggestion that Zoom and Teams can help is relevant, but it addresses meetings more than the wider impact on businesses or personal travel. To strengthen the response, explain the scale or consequences of these effects and give a specific example, while making the comparison between environmental gains and practical costs more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and disadvantages, and a conclusion that restates your view. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. This is a coherent arrangement, though some connections are mechanical and the reasoning within paragraphs could flow more smoothly. For example, the environmental paragraph moves from emissions to noise, then repeats the idea of protecting the environment without showing how the points build on one another. The business paragraph also shifts quickly from meetings to travel agencies and then online tools. Use clearer links between each claim and its consequence, and vary transitions so the structure feels less formulaic.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “carbon emission,” “global warming,” “noise pollution,” and “face to face meetings,” so the main ideas are understandable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors reduce precision: “air travels,” “fly less pollution,” “make the deal,” and “a bad effect” are not natural or exact expressions in context. There are also misspellings such as “bussinesses,” “emmision,” and “comoanies.” These issues fit a response with enough vocabulary to communicate the topic but inconsistent control. Build a more precise set of phrases for environmental impact and business travel, and check spelling and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional (“If people fly less…”) and a concession in the conclusion. The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but errors in sentence construction and grammatical forms occur across the response. Examples include “While this trend has some drawbacks… but I believe,” where the linking structure is faulty, and “if it fly less,” where the subject and verb do not agree. Other examples are “For individual, they can…” and “it will difficult,” which show problems with number and missing verb forms. Some punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent. Practise accurate conditional sentences, subject–verb agreement, and complete clause structures, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
