Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, some people are choosing to fly less often or stop flying completely. Although, this decision may cause some problems for individuals and businesess , I believe that the environmental benefits outweigh disadvantages.
To begin with, reducing air travel bring several environmental benefits. The first advantage is that fewer flights can reduce air pollution and carbon emissions. This can help slow down global warming and protect the environment. Moreover, cleaner air can improve public's health. Another benefit is that people may choose other mode of transportation such as trains and buses, for short journeys. These options may be more environmental friendly than flying.
However, reducing air travelling can create difficulties for people and businesses. First, people may find it difficult to visit their family members who live another country. For example, students who live abroad may not be able to meet their family members regualrly. Secondly, businesess may also suffer because they often depend on flights to attend international meetings and meet their clients. As a results, they may lose some business opportunities.
In conclusion, although flying less may create problems for people and businesses, I believe that environmetal advantages are graeter because its clean air quality and improve public health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear, consistent position: the environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages. The response addresses both sides, identifying reduced emissions and improved health, then explaining how less flying could affect family visits and business opportunities. These are relevant points, but several are only briefly stated. For instance, the claim that cleaner air improves public health is not explained, and the business disadvantage is not balanced with a specific example or discussion of how serious the impact might be. The conclusion repeats your view but gives little further synthesis. The response also falls 49 words short of the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop and support your ideas. Extend the main points with explanations and relevant examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your position, separate paragraphs present benefits and disadvantages, and a conclusion restates the view. Signposting such as “To begin with,” “However,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the argument. Some connections are less smooth or precise, however. “Another benefit” introduces a transport alternative without explaining how it supports the environmental argument, and “As a result” links business travel to lost opportunities but does not show the steps in that consequence. The conclusion’s reference to “its clean air quality” is also unclear. To strengthen progression, connect each example explicitly to the point it supports and use referencing that makes the relationship between ideas unmistakable.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use adequate vocabulary for the topic, including “carbon emissions,” “global warming,” “international meetings,” and “business opportunities.” These terms communicate the main ideas, and the response includes some variation rather than relying entirely on basic wording. However, several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors reduce precision: “environmental friendly” should be “environmentally friendly,” “air travelling” is unnatural in this context, and “businesess,” “regualrly,” and “environmetal” are misspelled. “Environmental benefits” and “problems” are also repeated without much variation. Build a more precise range by learning common collocations and checking spelling, while choosing alternatives that fit the exact meaning rather than simply using more complex words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in the opening (“Although this decision may cause…”) and a relative clause in “students who live abroad.” Most sentences remain understandable, and errors rarely prevent the reader from following your meaning. Some grammatical inaccuracies are present, though. In “reducing air travel bring,” the singular subject requires “brings”; “live another country” needs a preposition (“live in another country”); and “As a results” should be “As a result.” The opening punctuation after “Although” is also incorrect: it should not be followed by a full stop. Continue practising subject–verb agreement, articles and prepositions, and proofread sentence boundaries and punctuation.
