Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The airlines and aeroplanes play's a major role in connecting various business individual's physical meetings, deals, family members, and people who loves travelling to different places, parcels, etc. But, the aeroplane uses gallons of fuel within a single trip and causes huge amount of air pollution.
If the people stopped travelling through flights the environment will be more pollution free and healthy, the fuel in gallons will be saved.
Meanwhile, the businessus and their transportation would be hampered on a large scale, the people cannot get connected with their overseas family members and friends easily, and the people who wants to explore new countries or places would be stuck within the limits, connecting to one place to another will become very difficult, the people who needs emergentic treatment through oversea doctors will also face difficulties.
In conclusion, I believe people should stop using flights while travelling to very short distances, without any emergencies instead they should take less polluting source of means such as electric trains, private vehicles which runs from electricity, etc. However, it is inevitable for businessus, transportations, emergentic patients, explorers to stop using the aeroplanes or airlines as the source of convenience to travel this long distance.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify relevant consequences on both sides: flights support business, family contact and travel, while using less fuel could reduce pollution. Your conclusion also gives a qualified position, recommending alternatives for short journeys but retaining flights for some longer-distance needs. However, the response only partially answers whether the environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages: it does not clearly compare their relative importance, and most points are listed rather than explained or supported with examples. The discussion of environmental gains is especially brief. The response is also 50 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasoning. To strengthen the answer, state your judgement directly and explain it with a specific example and fuller comparison.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic overall shape, moving from the role of air travel to its environmental effects, then to disadvantages and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Meanwhile” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages. However, progression within the body is difficult to follow because several separate disadvantages are joined in one long sentence, including business transport, family visits, tourism and medical treatment. The opening also combines many examples without establishing a clear focus. Use distinct paragraphs for environmental benefits and disadvantages, and organise each around one main idea. Shorter sentences and clearer references would make the relationships between points easier to follow; for example, explain how each listed disadvantage affects individuals or businesses.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “air pollution,” “fuel,” “overseas family members” and “electric trains,” so the reader can understand the main subject. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, spelling and collocation errors make parts awkward or unclear. Examples include “businessus,” “emergentic treatment,” “more pollution free,” and “source of convenience.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “the people who wants to explore” and “transportations.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise terms such as “aviation emissions,” “business travel” and “alternative transport” would help you express the argument efficiently without relying on repeated references to “people” and “flights.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range of structures is limited, and attempts to combine several ideas often produce faulty sentences. For example, “If the people stopped travelling through flights the environment will be…” mixes a past-form conditional with “will”; “the people who wants” has a subject–verb agreement error; and the opening sentence lacks a clear grammatical structure. The long sentence beginning “Meanwhile” joins multiple clauses without adequate control, making the relationships between ideas hard to read. Practise forming accurate conditional sentences and divide lists of points into separate sentences. More consistent control of agreement, articles and punctuation would improve clarity.
