Student answer (Band 5.0)

Few indviduals have decided reduce the ratio of going out through Air busses. It is extreemly negative for the enviornment not only because of usage of harmful enerygy but also because of effective cost. This essasy will explore how these factors make this development negative one.

Firstly, the major drawback is when we will reduce using flights, we will get delayed to reach at our destination on time. This will highly effect the businessman and the students as well. If we are worried about the enviornment, the earoplane is not the one thing tht is effecting the enviornment however, the cars, Rikshaws and bikes also harmful so we need to control it first. Hence, this action can effect negative to our economy. For instance, In 2022, due to COVID, the flights got disturbed and this effected al to our economy because the business trades got cancelled.

Secondly, I believe annother reason is people will suffer a lot because if we will avoid using the flights then the flight companies will stop using their business and will not provide any king of Airlines facilities and due to the lack of Air busses pleople who need to go abroad will suffer in different ways like will pay a lot of chargees and seat booking issue as well. Thus, if we want to safe our enviornment then first we need to stop using our own Car or Bikes and use the public transport and this think will effect possitive on our enviornment as compared to the avoiding the flights.

To sum up, I believe it will negatively effect the businesses and traders not in the term of long time to reach our destinations but also because of high flight cost and lack of availbility of seats.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a clear overall position that reducing flights would have disadvantages, and you give relevant examples involving business travel, airline services and the COVID disruption. However, the task asks whether environmental benefits outweigh disadvantages, and the essay gives little explanation of the benefits themselves or a direct comparison of their importance. The claim that cars and bikes also harm the environment does not establish why reducing flights is a negative development, and the COVID example is not clearly linked to people choosing to fly less. Several points, such as higher fares and booking difficulties, are asserted rather than explained. To strengthen the response, acknowledge the emissions reduction, then weigh it against specific effects on individuals and businesses and support each point with a clear explanation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a concluding summary. This helps the reader identify the main sections, and connectors such as “Hence” and “Thus” show attempts to link ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first moves from delays to other vehicles, then to the economy and COVID without making the links clear. The second combines airline closures, overseas travel, fares and public transport in a crowded sequence. Some linking phrases are repetitive or do not express the relationship accurately. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, explain it, and use clearer references and transitions to show how each example supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “environment,” “economy,” “business trades,” “public transport” and “availability of seats.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning difficult to follow, such as “ratio of going out through Air busses,” “effective cost” and “effect negative to our economy.” Spelling errors are also frequent, including “indviduals,” “enviornment,” “extreemly” and “availbility,” which reduce clarity. Aim for precise, natural phrases rather than translating ideas word by word: for example, refer to “reducing the number of flights,” “the cost of air travel” and “the impact on businesses.” Proofreading spelling and checking collocations would make your argument easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer conditional or subordinate sentences, for example, “if we will avoid using the flights then the flight companies will stop using their business.” These attempts show some range, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the argument hard to follow. Examples include “have decided reduce” (missing “to”), “when we will reduce using flights” (incorrect tense and verb pattern), and “the cars, Rikshaws and bikes also harmful” (missing a verb). Subject–verb agreement and article use also need attention. Practise reliable patterns such as “If people reduce flying, airlines may…” and check that every clause has a correctly formed verb. Shorter, accurate sentences will help communicate your ideas more clearly.
