Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some individuals have decided to lesser the flying time per year, or even to completely ambanded flying. These precautions taken on individual level can leave various lasting impact on the environment, and reduces the negative impact on the lives around slowly and gradually. But for businesses this development can leave negavtive impact for various different reasons, like less passenger on board on one plain can cost higher. This eassy will discuss these impact briefly to understand how this development effects differently on individuals and businesses.

Climate change has become major concern in recent years worldwide. The common causes of climate change can be seen in our daily lives. For Example, air pollution is one of them, with time this environment literacy has become common many activits have been taken actions to mitigate climate crisis and save the environment around us. Deciding not fly or fly less in a year on indvidual level can be beneficial as it saves the air to get polluted less.

Saving environment is a major task in which each action is important. But one action can not decide that we overcome all the problems, but this development can create some positive changes for individual level. whereas on businesses it effects differently. For example, one plain fly with only five passenger with one destination to another can cause same as flying with 20 passengers. This makes the whole cost higher for these businesses.

In Conclusion, Deciding not to fly or fly less in one year on indvidual level can leave subtle impact on environment but can not outweigh the whole disadvantages for individuals and businesses related to it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the topic by recognising an environmental benefit of flying less and a possible business disadvantage, and your conclusion indicates that you do not believe the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening says the change can have lasting environmental impacts, while the conclusion calls the impact “subtle” and says it cannot outweigh the disadvantages. The discussion is also limited and under-developed. For example, you mention reduced air pollution but do not explain how fewer flights would reduce emissions or provide a specific example. The business point about a plane carrying five rather than 20 passengers is relevant, but its consequences are not fully explained. Develop both sides and state your comparison more directly throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

Your response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs broadly separate environmental benefits from business effects, which helps the reader follow the main topics. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and links between ideas can feel mechanical or imprecise. For instance, “But one action cannot decide that we overcome all the problems” does not clearly connect the general point about environmental action to the following comparison with businesses. The repeated use of “this development” and “for example” also makes cohesion less flexible. Use clearer topic sentences and explain how each example supports the paragraph’s main claim; ensure references such as “these impacts” have an unmistakable antecedent.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “climate change,” “air pollution,” “mitigate,” and “passenger,” so the reader can identify the subject and main ideas. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to read. Examples include “lesser the flying time,” “ambanded,” “environment literacy,” and “one plain.” Some phrases are also vague or unnatural, such as “leave subtle impact” and “save the air to get polluted less.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations and choose precise terms for the environmental effect, such as aviation emissions, rather than relying on broad phrases like “impact on the environment.” Proofreading spelling would also improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast in “But for businesses this development can leave…” and the example beginning “For example, one plane fly…”. However, complex attempts are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction can make meaning harder to follow. For example, “these precautions … can leave … impact, and reduces” shifts from a plural subject to a singular verb, while “Climate change has become major concern” is missing an article. The sentence beginning “For example, one plain fly with only five passenger…” also lacks accurate verb and plural forms. Practise building shorter, accurate sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check subject–verb agreement and articles.
