Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address the central question and give a clear overall view in the conclusion: the environmental benefits of restricting flights are greater than the drawbacks. You also mention disadvantages for airport businesses and people’s lives. However, the response only partially develops the comparison the task asks for. The environmental case is mostly asserted through points such as reducing fuel use and protecting the environment, without explaining the scale of aviation’s impact or giving a specific example. The disadvantages are also general, and the discussion does not clearly distinguish effects on individuals from effects on businesses. Develop each side with a reasoned example, then explain why the environmental gains outweigh those costs.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “For example,” “As a result,” and “On the other hand” help signal relationships between points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first body paragraph moves from fewer flights to electric vehicles and trains without explaining how these alternatives connect to the main argument. Some links are also repetitive or awkward, and references such as “which they work on it” make it difficult to follow exactly what is meant. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, then use clear explanations and examples to develop it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “climate change,” “air quality,” “economy growth,” and “environmental benefits,” so the reader can identify the subject of the essay. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making ideas difficult to interpret. Examples include “enhance ability of climate change,” “minimum use of flights,” and “excessive realease of gases.” There are also spelling errors such as “disscussion,” “fule,” and “elctric.” Aim to use precise, natural phrases for the effects of aviation and for business impacts, and check spelling carefully. Repeating “flights” and “environment” less often would also make the vocabulary more varied.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a concession with “Although” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, and articles. For example, “Although it has severals advantages, its present certain disadvantages” has an unclear subject and faulty verb form, while “there are some disadvantages of minimize the flights times” uses an incorrect grammatical pattern. In “they affect to the airport agencies,” the verb pattern is also faulty. These errors sometimes make the intended meaning hard to follow. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement and verb forms.
