Student answer (Band 5.5)

Few people have intention to take less flight on yearly basis or to stop it completely for betterment of environment. In my oponion, there are more disadvantages for business man and also for other people than that of advantages, instead we have to go for alternative to fuel use in planes or other modifications.

Planes use more fuel than any other transportation source and it is diturbing the environment through its harmul released gases but on other hand is a major means of travelling in between countries with less time. There are also other source of travelling between countries but they take more time than planes. In today's world, every one is in hurry in every matter of life because it is need of today's fast growing world.

Now, nothing is impossible in this technology era. Aerotrade engineers are working on developing advanced filters for planes. Recently, I have gone through a news of electric powered planes that will be available in few years for public uses. These planes will get all power from electric charged batteries and have enough capacity to travel thousands of kilometers without causing any damage to environment. This is on one hand a alternative to fuel and cheap, on other hand it is environmental friendly step.

In conclusion, electric planes are best alternatives to current one and also people can travel without causing harm to environment and there is no need need to get late from their meetings or for other purposes in daily life and so

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear view that reducing flights would bring greater disadvantages for individuals and businesses, and you offer an alternative in electric aircraft. However, the task asks you to weigh environmental benefits against disadvantages, and the environmental benefits are only briefly acknowledged through the mention of harmful gases and damage to the environment. The disadvantages are also asserted rather than explained: for example, you say planes save time and people are in a hurry, but do not show how reduced flying would affect businesses or individuals in practice. The discussion of future electric planes is relevant, but it shifts attention away from evaluating the development in the question. Develop both sides and support your position with specific consequences or examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from your position to reasons, a proposed alternative, and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps separate these stages, and linking phrases such as “on the other hand” and “In conclusion” signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is limited because the central comparison is not sustained: the second paragraph discusses the speed of air travel, while the next moves abruptly to engineers and electric planes. Some connections are unclear, particularly “This is on one hand a alternative to fuel and cheap,” which does not clearly explain how the point follows. The conclusion also trails off rather than neatly summarising the argument. Organise the body around the benefits and disadvantages, and use clearer references and transitions between them.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “environment,” “transportation,” “electric powered planes,” and “batteries,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make the writing less clear, such as “take less flight,” “harmul released gases,” and “for public uses.” Spelling errors, including “oponion” and “diturbing,” are also noticeable. Some phrases are vague or imprecise, such as “other modifications” and “in every matter of life.” Build a more accurate set of collocations for discussing aviation and environmental impact, and check spelling and word forms. More precise vocabulary would help you explain the effects on businesses and travellers.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including the contrast in “Planes use more fuel … but on other hand…” and the sentence beginning “Recently, I have gone through a news…”. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some passages difficult to read. Examples include “Few people have intention,” “there are more disadvantages … than that of advantages,” and “there is no need need to get late.” Articles, agreement, plurals, and sentence construction need more consistent control. The final sentence is also incomplete in effect, ending with “and so” without a finished conclusion. Practise building shorter, complete sentences first, then combine them with accurate clauses and check each sentence for missing words and repeated words.
