Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, a few people have made their decision to decrease the number of times they fly every year or stop flying overall. Although this approach cause loss of business, I believe its advantages outweigh its disadvantages because because it reduces air pollution and reduces cost of maintainance of the aircraft.

One major disadvantages of reducing flying number is less profit to airplane business owner. This means that whenever passenger reduces the number of their fly it directly affectt the earning of the business. Furthermore, continuous less passenger leads to shut-down of the business which leads to shortage of airplane whenever emergency takes place. Fo example: In Nepal, the tulshipur airport doesnot operate on regularly basis becasue of less number of people getting tickets.

Despite these limitations, this development provides substantial benefits, particularly in terms of reducing air pollution and cost of maintainances.

The decrsease number of passenger eventually after some timmes, reduces the aircraft which helps to reduces air pollution becasue less number of aircraft means less air pollution. Moreover, small country which are operating this services , their cost to maintainance aircraft decrases. For instance; small economic country are not able to operates aircraft .

In conclusion, although few fly cause loss of the business and no availability of aircraft services, I believe its benefits are significant. The decrease pollution and maintainance cost fewer makes this decision valuable.a

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall view that the environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages, and you identify relevant effects on airline businesses and air pollution. However, the discussion is only partial: the disadvantages for individuals are not addressed, and the environmental argument is asserted rather than explained in detail. The claim that fewer passengers will eventually reduce the number of aircraft needs a clearer link to people choosing to fly less. The Nepal airport example supports the business point, but its relevance and implications could be explained more fully. The response also falls 30 words short of the 250-word minimum; the nine words copied from the task prompt are excluded from the count. Develop both sides and add specific support to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on business disadvantages, a paragraph on benefits, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several links between ideas are not fully explained. For example, the move from fewer passengers to a shortage of aircraft in an emergency is difficult to follow. Linking words such as “Furthermore,” “Despite these limitations,” and “Moreover” are useful, but the relationships they signal can feel mechanical or imprecise. The conclusion repeats earlier points rather than bringing them together. Use clearer topic sentences and explain each cause-and-effect link so the argument develops more smoothly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “air pollution,” “passenger,” “profit,” and “maintainance cost,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spellings are noticeably inaccurate, sometimes making meaning harder to follow. Examples include “decrease the number of times they fly” expressed as “reducing flying number,” “airplane business owner,” and “small economic country.” Repeated use of “less” and “reduces” also limits precision. Aim to learn common collocations for aviation and environmental impacts, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain the effects on businesses and the environment without relying on repeated, general terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some complex sentence forms, including the opening concession beginning “Although” and the sentence starting “This means that whenever…”. However, the range remains limited, and errors are frequent enough to make several sentences difficult to read. For example, “this approach cause” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “it directly affectt the earning” contains agreement and sentence-form problems. The sentence about “continuous less passenger” also lacks a clear grammatical structure. There are further problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, including the final “valuable.a”. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with subordinate clauses. Proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb, agreement, and punctuation.
