Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many believe to reduce the number of time spent flying every year or to abort flying every year. I feel the advantages of the same dosen't outweight the disadvantages. This essay will list the advantages and the disadvantages of the same.
There are many advantages of reducing flying. Firstly, it reduces the carbon emmission. In recent times carbon emission is been a very big problem by reducing flying it comes to an end. For instance, France banned inter country flights to reduce the carbon emission. Secondly, reduces global warming. Today, global warming had become at greatest problem for mankind by reducing flights this can be controlled.
On the other it has many disadvantages. First and foremost, it increases the travel time. Today we can travel continent to continent with the help of flights in an short period of time it becomes impossible to abort flying. Secondly, there are some business in market who offers time services. For instance fedex is known for its timed delivery and if flying is aborted then it will affect the brand to dieliver at the same time with different transport method. It affects businessmans by reducing their productive time. An aeroplane can make a person reach its destination in very less time but train which is fastest after flights can take even days to make a person reach its destination. To exemplify it further, Mark Rover a businessman runs its jet before he arrives at the airport to quickly get on board and save time.
In nutshell, although there are many advantages of reducing our flight journey or aborting it but it still dosen't outweightes the disadvantages.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and state a clear view: you believe the disadvantages outweigh the environmental benefits. Relevant points include reduced carbon emissions and global warming, alongside longer journeys and effects on time-sensitive businesses. However, some ideas are asserted rather than explained. For example, saying that reducing flights means global warming “can be controlled” does not show how significant that effect would be, and the FedEx example could explain more precisely how air freight supports its service. The personal example about Mark Rover is also not clearly connected to the wider impact on individuals or businesses. Develop these points with clearer reasoning and evidence so that each part of the task is addressed more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “On the other” help signal the direction of the argument. Overall, the reader can follow your position. However, some links are mechanical, and the opening repeats “the same” without clearly identifying the development. Within the disadvantages paragraph, travel time, delivery services, productivity, and the businessman’s jet example are placed together without enough explanation of how they connect. Use clearer referencing and transitions, and organise related examples around one main point. This would make the progression smoother and reduce moments where the relationship between ideas is unclear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “carbon emission,” “global warming,” “timed delivery,” and “productive time,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less clear. For example, “abort flying” is not a natural way to describe stopping air travel, while “time services” does not clearly convey the idea of time-sensitive delivery. Spelling errors such as “emmission,” “dieliver,” and “dosen't” also affect accuracy. Aim to use precise phrases for the environmental and economic effects, and check spelling and collocations carefully. More varied, accurate vocabulary would make the argument easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, there are some recurring problems with verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “carbon emission is been a very big problem” has an incorrect verb form, and “Today, global warming had become” uses an unsuitable tense. The sentence beginning “Secondly, reduces global warming” lacks a clear subject, while “there are some business” has a number-agreement error. Some long sentences also become difficult to follow because clauses are joined without clear grammatical control. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check tense consistency, articles, and punctuation.
