Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the contemporary world, Many individuals have opinion that they should reduce to travel by aeroplane day by day or completely stop flying. I believe that this development might have significant effects to the residents and industries although there are several benefits to surroundings. Hence, this change has more drawbacks than the benefits. This essay will explore the valid answer with an appropriate examples in the ensuing paragraphs.
The primary reason is that, upto the large extend it is affect to the global tourism industry. Because of this some country may suffered from financial crisis and this will lead to lower development all around the world. For instance Thailand is a nation which is totally depends on a touristy if they lose visitor they might bear a heavy losses. Additionally, international trade and business connection may be affected. There are a country who is mainly depends on import so they lose supplier who sent a things from air way.
Furthermore, people may find international travel difficult. Citizen starting to avoid travel by plan then they find difficulties in traveling in to the another country if the find a water way then it is to much time consuming. For example, if person want to travel from India to Canada then by plan it take 2 days or by ship it will take 2 months.
On the contrary, all over the world individuals begin to avoid flying by planes then it might help in less air pollution and it reduced carbon emissions. Consequently, air quality improves.
In conclusion, although there are benefits to environment because of less air traffic. But most importantly it brutally effect to the tourism and individual’s personal life and organisations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you believe the disadvantages for people and businesses outweigh the environmental gains. You address both sides, noting reduced pollution and carbon emissions, while discussing tourism, trade, and the inconvenience of long-distance travel. These are relevant points, but some are less fully developed than others. The Thailand example could explain more specifically how fewer visitors affect jobs or income, and the trade point about losing suppliers is unclear. The India–Canada comparison helps illustrate travel inconvenience, though it would be stronger if linked directly to the impact on individuals or businesses. To strengthen the response, explain the scale or consequences of each main point and make the comparison between environmental benefits and disadvantages more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on business and personal disadvantages, a paragraph on environmental benefits, and a conclusion. This makes your main line of argument easy to follow. You also use signposts such as “Additionally,” “Furthermore,” and “On the contrary.” However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Because of this” begins a fragment, and “On the contrary” does not accurately signal a contrast with the preceding paragraph. The conclusion repeats the position but does not clearly weigh the two sides. Use linking expressions that show the precise relationship between ideas, and make each paragraph progress from a clear point to explanation and evidence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “tourism industry,” “financial crisis,” “international trade,” “air pollution,” and “carbon emissions.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, but the range and control are limited by repeated or inaccurate expressions. Phrases such as “travel by aeroplane day by day,” “a touristy,” and “a heavy losses” are not natural in this context, while “air way” is imprecise for air freight or air transport. Some word choices make the intended meaning harder to understand, particularly the claim about countries losing suppliers. Build a more accurate set of topic collocations and check word forms and countability. More precise vocabulary will help you express the economic and environmental effects clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional forms such as “if they lose visitor they might bear a heavy losses” and a contrast introduced by “although.” However, errors in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, and articles occur across the response and sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. For example, “it is affect to the global tourism industry” has an incorrect verb pattern, and “Thailand is a nation which is totally depends” combines incompatible structures. There are also issues with singular and plural forms in “if person want” and “they lose visitor.” Practise building accurate clauses before adding complexity, especially with conditionals and relative clauses, and check subject–verb agreement and articles during revision.
