Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
The opening identifies the topic and signals an intention to discuss advantages and disadvantages, but the response does not reach a developed answer to the question. It gives only one incomplete environmental point—aircraft use fuel and emit carbon dioxide—and does not explain whether these benefits outweigh the disadvantages for individuals and businesses. The disadvantages and a final position are absent, and the essay ends mid-sentence at “Although aircraft”. The response is also substantially below the required 250 words: it contains 89 words, 161 short of the minimum, with 11 prompt words excluded. To improve, state your view clearly and develop both sides with explanations and relevant examples before concluding.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an introductory paragraph is followed by a paragraph beginning “One major advantage,” and phrases such as “This trend” and “Although” signal connections between ideas. However, the progression is very limited because the discussion stops before the contrast introduced by “Although aircraft” is completed. The introduction promises an examination of both advantages and disadvantages, but no corresponding sections or conclusion follow. The missing development makes the overall structure feel incomplete, despite the initial paragraphing and signposting. Build a clear sequence with separate paragraphs for environmental benefits, effects on individuals and businesses, and your judgement; use linking expressions only where they accurately show the relationship between complete ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “environment,” “carbon-dioxide,” “fuel,” and “advantages and disadvantages,” so the subject is generally identifiable. It also attempts more formal phrasing such as “considerable discussion” and “overall impact.” However, spelling and word-form errors are frequent and sometimes distract the reader: “incresingly,” “potencial,” “eassy,” “conclution,” “similler,” and “ammount.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, particularly “dispose carbon-dyoxide” and “a great impact on environment.” Aim for accurate environmental collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, use “emit carbon dioxide” and “have a significant impact on the environment”; these choices would make the limited ideas clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response shows an attempt to use both simple and more complex sentence forms. For instance, the opening sentence uses a coordinated alternative, while “because it offers certain benefits while also creating potential difficulties” gives a reason and contrast within a longer structure. However, grammatical control is uneven. In “One major advantage is the development would have,” the clause needs a connector such as “that”; “airplane is the similler as the other vehicles” has problems with articles and sentence construction; and “Although aircraft” is an unfinished subordinate clause. There is also a missing space after the full stop in “world.This.” Complete each sentence, check articles and clause links, and punctuate sentence boundaries consistently.
