Student answer (Band 4.5)
some people have decided to decrease the number of times they fly every year or to stop flying altogether its impact individual life from my perspective its concerning that flyinf is better than travelling with transport like train or buses because it took a lot o time to reach our destination so i my opinion we should travel buy aeroplane so our time will be save and we reach to our destination early its have its prons and cons also if someone have extra time to enjoy and destination is not the main thing to reach the main cause is to enjoy the views and see the views that god have make for us so i thought its quite fantastics to see haeven on earth by yravelling with cars or public transports like coasters and visting the places and enjoyig the whole tour easting and munching all the waybut if we go through buy air its save a lot of time but its cost so much its not budget freindly for all although travelling by other cargoes have less budget friendly, so everyone cant afford that so minimizing the time of fly benefits our economy as well.
In a nutshell,i saw many people who have bussniess and upper middle class have enough money so they fly easily or more flexibally so they dont think about money they book bussniess travel and go whenever they wished to so stop flying althogether doest means that its affect our economy but benefit as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You attempt to address the question by discussing the convenience and cost of flying, and you give a position that flying saves time and that stopping altogether would not necessarily harm the economy. However, the central issue—whether environmental benefits outweigh disadvantages—is not really examined: environmental effects are not explained, and the disadvantages for businesses receive little attention. Your position is therefore difficult to follow and the ideas remain limited and under-developed. The response is also 238 words, below the required 250; the 13 words copied from the prompt were not counted. To improve, state your view directly and develop both environmental benefits and effects on individuals and businesses with relevant examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: it moves from travel time and enjoyment to cost, then ends with a concluding phrase, “In a nutshell”. However, most of the writing is presented as one very long paragraph, so the reader has difficulty seeing the stages of your argument. Ideas also shift abruptly—for example, from enjoying scenery to affordability and then to business-class travellers—without clear links. Connectors such as “so”, “although” and “but” are repeated or do not clearly show the relationship between points. Use separate paragraphs for your position, environmental benefits, disadvantages and conclusion, and make each paragraph develop one main idea in a clear sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to travel and its costs, including “destination”, “budget friendly”, “economy” and “business travel”. These choices show an attempt to discuss the topic, but the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unclear, which sometimes makes the intended meaning hard to understand. For instance, “cargoes” does not fit the reference to other ways of travelling, and “its prons and cons” is too general to explain the specific trade-offs. Spelling errors such as “flyinf”, “freindly” and “bussniess” also reduce clarity. Build a more precise topic vocabulary for emissions, alternatives and commercial impacts, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to express connected and contrasting ideas, using forms such as “if someone have extra time” and “although travelling by other cargoes…”, but most sentences rely on long strings joined with “so”, “but” or “and”. This makes sentence boundaries unclear and limits the range of structures. Errors in verb forms and agreement are frequent, as in “it took a lot of time” and “someone have”; articles and sentence punctuation are also often missing. These problems sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then add controlled complex forms with “because”, “although” and “if”. Check subject–verb agreement, tense consistency, articles and full stops during revision.
