Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, a number of people are decreased who fly every year in several times or they want to stop flying indeed. I asserted that environmental advantages of this habit outweigh the disadvantages for everyone.

On the one hand, at the present deceads the number of flying is increased rather than the past. Because people want to more comfortable journey, and plane journey is more suitable than any kind of vichales. As a consequence, this development creat a business industry in all over the world, and its the most profitable business. However, people are more quatious about time, so they do not consider money as an issue for travel. Moreover, people like to go fastest way thats why they always give priority to flight. As a result , it gives a lot of finantial help to a country for development.

On the other hand, there are many people who want to reduce flying time, because flying more and more can creat environmental problems. The fossil fuel is the main source of energy to carried out the flight. For this reason, every year the compnay buy huge amount of fuel, beacause it need for giving energy on enginee. And that make a lot of methen gas in environment and rise the temperature. Therefore, it may bring a lot of diseasters in environment, and harms on the people lives.

In conclusion, though there are a lot of benefits of flying more, it can develop the GDP and also can increase the stablity of business. But it also can harm for people as well as environment. So, I firmly agree with that satement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall view that the environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages, and you include relevant points about aviation’s contribution to business and the environmental effects of fuel use. However, the response only partly answers the comparison in the question: the disadvantages for individuals and businesses are not clearly weighed against the benefits of reducing flights. For example, you mention that flying supports a profitable industry and national development, but do not explain what businesses or individuals would lose if people flew less. The environmental explanation also needs more accurate, specific support; the claim that flights produce “methane gas” is not explained. Develop both sides with concrete examples, then show explicitly why the environmental gains are more significant.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting points, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify the broad structure. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and some links are mechanical or unclear. The opening of the first body paragraph says flying has increased, which does not directly establish the disadvantages of reducing flights; the connection to business benefits needs to be made explicit. Phrases such as “As a consequence,” “Moreover,” and “As a result” are used, but the relationships between some claims remain difficult to follow. The conclusion also shifts between the benefits of flying and the harms of flying without clearly comparing them. Organise each paragraph around one main point and use clearer references and transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “fossil fuel,” “profitable business,” “financial help,” and “stability of business.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make parts of the argument difficult to understand. Examples include “people are more quatious about time,” “methen gas,” and “harms on the people lives.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “flying time” when you mean the frequency of flights. Build a more accurate topic vocabulary and check spelling and word forms carefully. Choosing familiar words that fit naturally is more effective than attempting an uncertain expression.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use some longer sentence forms, including cause-and-effect structures with “Because,” “For this reason,” and “Therefore,” as well as a contrastive conclusion beginning “though.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For example, “a number of people are decreased” does not form a correct sentence, while “the company buy huge amount of fuel” has problems with agreement and article use. “The fossil fuel is the main source of energy to carried out the flight” also shows faulty verb structure. These errors sometimes make the intended meaning hard to follow. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
