Student answer (Band 6.0)
Few citizens have taken an initiative to decrease their number of flights per year or stop flying entirely. In the recent years air pollution had increased a lot due planes. I think that totally stop flying or reduction in number of times people take flight will have a negative impact on individuals and businesses.
On one hand, decline in number of flights can have good environmental benefits. It will help decrease the air pollution caused by heavy planes, and jets. The fuel consumption can be controlled and it can be used where its necessary. Furthermore the air traffic shall go down and the fresh air will be easily available. Also there'll be less number of health issues related to respiratory system. People will breath clean and fresh oxygen and will not have any respiratory diseases.
On the other hand, the disadvantages of flight reduction can't be ignored altogether.
In todays modern world businesses and corporations became international and depend widely on eachother. Thus there are various meetings which take place in different countries. Businessman and CEOs take large number of flights each year. Hence it will affect such businesses and companies. Moreover, a large number of citizens who live away from there homeland country have to meet their loved ones once a year or two years. In addition to this tourists often take flights for their trips or visit to an other country. Therefore, less number of flights shall affect public at large.
In conlusion, the disadvantages of less flight intakes outweigh the environmental benefits of this initiative because big companies board of directors meet often in different countries, also general public visits other states. However public should try to use flight if necessary and plan their tours and trips accordingly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and state a clear position: you believe the disadvantages for people and businesses outweigh the environmental benefits. Relevant points include reduced pollution and fuel use, alongside international business meetings, family visits and tourism. This covers the task, but some ideas are asserted rather than explained. For example, you say fewer flights would make “fresh air” available and reduce respiratory illness, without showing how substantial those effects might be. The disadvantages are also broad: explain why particular business activities cannot be handled remotely, or how reduced travel affects families and tourism. To strengthen the response, develop fewer points with specific examples and make the comparison between environmental gains and personal or economic costs more explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and disadvantages, and a conclusion that restates your view. Signposting such as “On one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the argument. However, some links feel mechanical, and ideas within paragraphs are sometimes added in a list rather than developed in a clear sequence. In the benefits paragraph, pollution, fuel consumption, air traffic and health are connected but not fully explained as a chain of effects. The final paragraph also combines several points in one long sentence. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and make pronoun references precise—for example, clarify what “it” refers to in “it can be used where its necessary.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “air pollution,” “fuel consumption,” “respiratory system,” “international,” and “corporations.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “environmental benefits” and “outweigh.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, which limits precision: “flight intakes,” “large number of flights,” and “public at large” do not fit smoothly in context. Spelling errors such as “conlusion,” “there” for “their,” and “eachother” also affect the overall impression. Build a bank of natural topic collocations and check spelling carefully; for instance, use “reduce the number of flights” and “people living abroad” rather than less idiomatic phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including cause-and-effect links with “Thus” and “Hence,” and a contrastive structure beginning “On the other hand.” Most of the meaning remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “In the recent years air pollution had increased,” where the article and tense are not appropriate, and “People will breath,” where the verb form is incorrect. There are also agreement and article problems in “Businessman and CEOs take large number of flights,” as well as punctuation issues in longer sentences. Practise accurate articles, verb forms and singular/plural agreement, then proofread each sentence. More controlled complex sentences would help you express relationships between ideas without sacrificing accuracy.
