Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people often argued that to stop flying or by reducing the number of flights alyhough have many effects on bussiness and individual but it also have various positive effect on environment. This essay will discuss both poinpts and I will also discuss my points of view.
On the one hand, many people now a days live in abroad and if there is complete ban on the flights, its almost impossible for them to meet thier beloved one. It also have a huge impact on economy. For instance, many people have multi international bussiness if there is no way to travel by plane, they may do not have any acess to thier bussiness and it results in economic loss.
On the other hand, stop flying altogether have a healthy effect on environment. it helps in reducing air pollution and there is low chances of climate change. For example, if there is no use of planes it prevents the way carbon dioxide enters directly into the atmosphere and cause harm to ozone layer and climate change are ultimately the tresults of that. So, from my perspective people should use other veheciles instead of using plane but nee

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both sides of the question by mentioning the effects on people and businesses, then the environmental benefits, and you give a clear preference for using other vehicles instead of planes. However, the response only partially develops the task: the disadvantages are illustrated through family separation and international business, while the environmental case is mostly limited to pollution and climate change. The claim that aircraft emissions harm the ozone layer is not explained accurately, and the conclusion is cut off at “but nee…”, so your final position is incomplete. The response is also 54 words below the required minimum, which leaves too little space to explain and support your ideas. Develop the comparison of benefits and disadvantages and finish with a complete conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs introduced by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand”, and an attempted concluding position. These signposts help readers follow the contrast. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited, and the final sentence ends abruptly, leaving the overall argument unfinished. Some links are mechanical or unclear, such as “For example” before a claim about carbon dioxide that is not fully explained, and “So, from my perspective” does not lead to a complete conclusion. Build each paragraph around one clear point, explain how the example supports it, and use referencing and transitions to connect ideas rather than relying mainly on set phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “air pollution”, “climate change”, “economy” and “international business”. There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “carbon dioxide” and “complete ban”. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear, for example “bussiness”, “veheciles”, “beloved one” and “low chances”. Some phrases are imprecise or unnatural, including “healthy effect on environment” and “prevents the way carbon dioxide enters”. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise language for emissions and travel impacts would help you express the environmental argument clearly without relying on broad or inaccurate claims.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if there is no way to travel by plane, they may do not have…”. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some relationships difficult to follow. Examples include “it also have a huge impact”, “stop flying altogether have”, and “climate change are”, where subject–verb agreement is incorrect. The opening sentence also has an incomplete construction (“to stop flying or by reducing… although have many effects”), while “they may do not have” uses an incorrect verb pattern. Practise building complete clauses and checking agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries. More accurate control of these patterns will make your ideas easier to understand.
