Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover the main stages in the correct order, from planting bamboo in spring and harvesting it in autumn through processing the fibres, spinning yarn and weaving fabric. The overview also identifies the start and end of the process, and the reference to clothing is supported by the final illustrations. However, some stages are not reported fully: the diagram shows finished clothing after weaving, but your final sentence says only that the fabric is made, so the endpoint is unclear. Several descriptions, such as “it process it” and “make the weave to fabric texture,” also make the process difficult to understand. State the overall transformation clearly and describe each stage with precise, complete information.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview and a chronological account of the stages. The sequence is generally easy to follow, and transitions such as “After that,” “following this process” and “At the end” help signal progression. However, the process description is compressed into one long paragraph, and several linking expressions are used mechanically or with unclear connections, including “additionally” and “moreover.” Punctuation and spacing also interrupt the flow. Group the stages into clearer sections and use transitions only where they show a genuine relationship between steps. This would make the progression smoother and the links between actions easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant process vocabulary, including “harvest,” “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “fibers,” “amine oxide,” “yarn” and “fabric.” These terms show an attempt to describe the diagram rather than relying only on general language. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, for example “precedure,” “bomboo,” “addtionally” and “form” for “from.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “the plant of bamboo,” “fabric texture” and “different dress,” which can obscure the intended meaning. Aim for accurate process collocations and check spelling carefully; using “bamboo plants,” “woven fabric” and “clothing” would make the description clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a sequence of actions joined with “after that” and “following this process.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors make individual stages unclear. For example, “there are nine different stages involve” needs a passive form (“involved”), while “This process is start” and “the fabric is make” use incorrect verb forms. There are also problems with articles, agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “this plants” and the run-on description beginning “moreover, this strips crush.” Practise accurate passive constructions for process descriptions and vary sentence boundaries so that each stage is expressed in a complete, controlled clause.
