Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the process as a sequence from planting bamboo to finished clothing, and include several accurate details: planting occurs in spring, harvesting in autumn, and the later stages involve crushing, filtering, softening, spinning and weaving. The reference to T-shirts and socks also captures the final products shown. However, the overview is unclear and does not clearly summarise the process’s main stages or its progression from growing the plant to producing fabric and garments. Some steps are described imprecisely: “with the help of cutter machines” is not specified in the diagram, and “convert weave shape into fabric shape” does not clearly explain weaving. A clearer overview and more precise reporting of each stage would make the response more complete and informative.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has an identifiable introduction, overview and two body sections, and it generally follows the process from planting through to the finished products. This gives the reader a basic sense of sequence. However, progression is weakened by mechanical ordinal markers such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Fifth step,” as well as the vague transition “On the other point.” The middle stages are not grouped or linked smoothly, and the final sentence repeats the idea that the process produces a final product. Punctuation and spacing also interrupt the flow, for example “season,Secondly” and the line break after “then.” Use clear stage-to-stage links and organise the description into a beginning-to-end sequence without repeating the conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant process vocabulary, including “harvest,” “strips,” “liquid pulp,” “fibres,” “amine oxide,” and “weave,” which helps convey the diagram’s subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, sometimes making the meaning less clear. Examples include “production of fabric,” “filterartion,” “spin yam shape,” and “convert weave shape into fabric shape.” “Cutter machines” is also an imprecise description of the cutting stage. Aim for accurate process collocations and use the diagram’s terms directly, such as “spin the fibres into yarn” and “weave the yarn into fabric.” Check spelling and avoid repeating broad phrases such as “final product” and “several process.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both simple statements and longer sequences, but grammatical control is weak and errors occur throughout, sometimes making relationships between stages difficult to follow. For example, “The chart demonstrate” has subject–verb disagreement, while “the manufacturing … are consist” has an incorrect verb construction and agreement. The overview’s “like, firstly plantation … after cutting” is not a complete, clearly structured sentence. Other problems include missing articles and awkward verb forms in “first step of plant the bamboo” and “Six method is soften fibres with add water.” Punctuation and capitalisation are also inconsistent. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then connect them with clauses using correct verb forms—for example, “The fibres are softened by adding water and amine oxide.”
