The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The chart illustrates the steps to be followed to prepare a bamboo fabric, it consists of nine stages starting with planting the bamboo till ultimately preparing the fabric cloth.

Overall, this flow chart explains a clear path to follow, taking crucial steps in order to achieve a successful bamboo fabric method. In contrast, the thread obtained from the process is stitched to make a cloth.

Primary steps involve planting bamboo plants during the spring season and wait until autumn to harvest those plants, the following steps are fascinating as they involve cutting down the plant into strips and crush them to make a liquid pulp. Then separate the long fibers from liquid and soften these fibers by additionally adding water and a chemical called amine oxide. The closing stages involve spin the fiber to make yarn, weaving it to produce the fabric. Ultimately, a cloth is made from the bamboo plant.

In conclusion, the complete process is challenging as it enhances and appreciates the process of turning a bamboo plant into fabric.
