IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 7.0)
The process cycle describes the steps by which fabric is prepared from bamboo.
Overall the cycle shows the season of plantation and harvest of baboo trees. It also describes the steps through which the bamboo passes before a fabric is prepared.
The bamboo plants are cultivated by the farmers in spring seasons. During atumn the bamboo plants are harvested, and after that they are cut into smalls pieces. The strips are then passed through heavy machines and changed into liquid pulp. The liquid pulp is filtered due to which the liquid and fibers in the pulp are separated.
In the next step the fibers are softened by adding a specified amount of amine oxide and water. The soft fibers are spinned to to make yam followed by the next stage of weaving. The fibers are woven to prepare fabrics. After the fibers are prepared, they are molded into different types of clothes. These fabrics are used for the manufacturing of shirts as well as socks.
