IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 7.0)

The diagram depicts the process of how the fabric has been manufactured from a bamboo. At a glance, the entire process is divided in to main three sections, which is farming, processing and the making of final product.

At first, the process starts with the plantation of bamboo. After giving some time to grow, the bamboo has been harvested on a second step. At a third step, all the harvested bamboos were cut into strips. The step from four to six contains the steps of processing. after cutting, all the strips are crushed to make liquid and then the filter process comes in which separates long fibres from the liquid. In the last step of processing, a water and amine oxide were added into fibres to make it soften. Lastly, in the third section of process, soft fibres were spin in order to make yarn from it. then, the yarn is weaved to make fabrics. On the last step, final clothes from the fabric has been made.

To sum up, the process of making fabric from bamboo is very complex as it contains so many steps including harvesting, filtration and weaving process.
