Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response provides a basic overview of the fabric manufacturing process from bamboo. There is an outline of the steps involved, but some key features are missed. For instance, clarity around the entire process could be improved; terms like 'soft fibred' and 'spin' are unclear and might confuse readers. Furthermore, the progression of stages is somewhat difficult to follow due to awkward phrasing like 'it crushs to make liquid pulp.' Overall, while the student attempts to summarize the information, details are not adequately comprehended, affecting the task achievement. This would likely fall around a Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The organization of the response demonstrates a basic structure, beginning with an introduction followed by a series of stages detailing the manufacturing process. However, many sentences lack cohesion and fluency, with awkward syntax resulting in unclear meaning. For example, "it is beginning with planting bamboo and winds up with final product" lacks clarity. Additionally, transitions between stages are not smooth, leading to a disjointed reading experience. These issues significantly impact coherence and cohesion, suggesting a score of approximately Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and lacks variety. Words like "soften fibres" and "final product" are repeated without changes, giving a flat tone to the description. While there are attempts to use some specific terminology related to the process (like 'harvesting' and 'strips'), there is also significant misuse of terms and spelling errors, such as 'crushs' and 'proccess'. These inaccuracies can lead to confusion about the process being described. Overall, the lexical resource suggests a Band 5.0 due to the limited range and frequent errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

Grammatical errors are frequent throughout the response, including subject-verb agreement errors (e.g., "stips of bamboo it crushs") and awkward phrasing (e.g., "the bamboo plants are spring"). Several sentences are incomplete or confusing due to improper structure, such as "and the separate long fibres from liquid" which should clarify the action performed. While the intention to describe the process is clear, the grammatical inaccuracies and simple sentence constructions hinder the clarity of the message. This indicates a level around Band 5.0 for grammatical range and accuracy.

Overall feedback

You have made a commendable effort in summarizing the bamboo fabric manufacturing process. There is a basic structure in your writing, which is a good start. However, I suggest focusing on improving clarity in your descriptions; consider using more precise terms and maintaining a consistent flow between stages. Additionally, revising your grammatical accuracy will enhance your writing significantly. Try practicing sentence structure and focusing on subject-verb agreement to avoid confusion. Expanding your vocabulary would also help convey your ideas more effectively. Keep practicing!
