IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

This diagram illustrates the complete procedure of fabric manufacture from Bambi. This procedure has eight different steps showcasing the entire process of fabric making.

Overall, the process starts at planting Bambo which is then harvested by farmers to crush them and soften them by adding water and amine oxide to it. Yarn is collected by spine to weave fabric.

The first step of making clothes from bambo tree is to plant them in spring season which eventually will grow till spring season. At this time of year, farmers harvest the crops to cut them into strips. The next step is to crush them to make liquid pulp. After that, filtration process is used to separate long fibres from short one.

The next step is to add water and amine oxide to the filtered fibres to soften them. After softening fibres, yarn is make by spinning it to make it into weave which eventually is a form of fabric. The last step is to sew them into wearable cloth
