The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The given image shows how the fabric were extracted from bamboo to make clothes.

Overall, the process begins from planting a bamboo shoot to making clothes from it, and there are 9 stages total.

At the first, the bamboo were planted in the spring season then the bamboo grows till the autumn. In autumn the farmers cut the bamboo, and the bamboo was passed through a cutter to make bamboo stripes. After that the stripes of bamboo were soaked in water and amine oxide for some time; that helps to soften the bamboo fibres.

After some time the soaked stripes were passed through filter to separate long fibers from the liquid, and then the long fibers were crushed into small stripes to make a pulp out of them. And then the pulp was spun to make yarn. And the yarn was woven together to make the fabric and finally the fabric was used to make the new clothes.
