IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The diagram illustrates, the production of fabric from bamboo plant.

Overall, the entire process involves 9 stages starting from growing bamboo plant in the spring season and culminating with new fabric which can be used to make different clothes.

First of all a bamboo plant was planted, it grows properly in the spring season. followed by harvesting process in an autumn season which is done manually by the farmer . After that, bamboo tree undergoes cutting procedure to make strips by using a circular cutter. After cutting stripes are crushed to make liquid pulp. Then the long fibres are separated from liquid through filter process which results in soften fibres by adding water and amine oxide.

Next, soft fibre is ready to make yarn after spin . Next stage is weaving which is essential to make fabric . Finally fabric is ready to make different items like t-shirts ,socks etc.
