IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The diagram tells us about how a bamboo fabric is manufactured. The first step in it is that we need to plant a bamboo plant in spring. In the second we will wait for autumn, when autumn arrives we will harvest our grown bamboo plant. Then in the third step it would include cutting the plant into strips and then crushing the strips and transforming it into a liquid pulp. After we get the liquid pulp ,we will separate the long fibres from liquid and then we will soften them by adding chemicals such as, amine oxide and H20(water).After we get the soft fibres we will take it to the process of yarning. Then the processed fibres would be spun tightly together to transform them into yarn. After yarning is done we will use the woven machinery to weave it and create a fabric. In the final stage, the fabric is cut and sewn to manufactured finished clothing items that might be skirts, shirts or socks.
