IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The diagrammatic representation illustrates the procedure of how the bamboo is used for the production of fabric.

Firstly, to start the process planting of bamboo was done. In next step, Harvesting of bamboos are done in autumn season. After this, bamboo plants are cut into strips and in the next step, these strips are crushed in order to make liquid pulp. Moving further, the crushed strips goes through the process of filtering which separates the long fibres from liquid.

After that, water and amine oxide are added in the fibres to make them soft. In the next step, the process of spinning take place which helps to make yarn. Then, Fabrics are made by weaving of fibres. In the last step, after completing weaving, fabric clothing are manufactured.

Overall, all the steps are important and interrelated to each other. Omission of even a single step would halt the whole procedure.
