The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The diagram illustrates how fabric is made from the use of bamboo.

Overall, the process of making fabric starts with the cultivation of bamboo seeds during spring, they are then cut into stripes by a machine. Thereafter, the fibers are then softened using fiber softeners called water and amine oxide, then it is spun and weaved to make fabric.

The general process of fabric manufacturing begins with planting of bamboo seeds in spring, the bamboo is then mature and fully ready for harvest during autumn season. After the harvest, the bamboo is then cut into stripes using a machine, then the stripes are crushed to make a liquid pulp.

In the next step, the long fibers is separated from the liquid using a filter. The next step will be to soften the fibers by adding water and amine oxide . The softened fiber is then spun into a yarn which will be weaved to make fabric. The whole process ends with the fabric being tailored into different outfits like shirts and socks.
