The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The diagram illustrates the process of how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Overall, the process consists of 9 main stages. Beginning with planting bamboo plants in spring and ending with the manufactured fabric.

At the first stage, the bamboo plants are planted in the spring season. Next that plant is harvested in autumn. Following this, the bamboo plant is cut down into strips. Once this has been done, the fibre gets softed. To make the fibre soft, water is added to it as well as amine oxide is also added to it.

The process is now at stage 5, and this subsequent stage, filtration takes place in such a way that long fibres get separated from the liquid. After that, the strips of bamboo plant are crushed in order to make liquid pulp.

Finally the pulp gets spin to make yam, resulting into weave that is used to make fabric. At the end of the process, the product is ready that is a fabric.
