IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Write at least 150 words.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
This given diagram illustrates, a whole process of making fine threads for making fabric from a bamboo plant, and its uses for making useful products.
Firstly, bamboo plants are planted in spring season and then harvested in season of autumn. After harvesting, there is a process of cutting them into long thin strips, and crushing the strips to make liquid pulp ,and then separating the long fibres from liquid with the help of filter paper adjusted in a funnel. After that these fibres are soften by adding water and a chemical amine oxide. Then these soft fibres spined to make yam, a rolled ball of bamboo fibre. Then this yam as diagram shows, it weaved to make fabric, a square piece of cloth. At the end, this fabric is used to make useful products like shirt and socks.
