Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main stages of the bamboo manufacturing process, from harvesting to the final product. However, the information is presented as a list of steps rather than a cohesive summary. The overview is missing, and the response lacks a clear structure, which is essential for Task 1. While the key stages are identified, the lack of a formal introduction and a clear summary of the process flow limits the score. The description of the stages is somewhat repetitive and lacks the analytical tone required for an academic report.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response lacks paragraphing, which is a significant issue for coherence. The text is presented as a single block, making it difficult to follow the logical progression of the process. While some cohesive devices like 'first', 'after that', and 'finally' are used, they are often used mechanically. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'when Wiil be they get they add', which disrupts the flow of information. Improved paragraphing and a wider variety of linking words would significantly enhance the clarity of the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. There are several spelling errors, such as 'surmization' instead of 'summary' and 'shocks' instead of 'socks'. The use of terms like 'strips shapes' and 'anstructure material' indicates a lack of precision. While the student attempts to describe the technical process, the word choice is often informal or incorrect for an academic context. To improve, the student should focus on learning process-specific vocabulary and ensuring correct spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('The data represent', 'fabric generate'), missing articles ('the fabric', 'a yarn'), and incorrect sentence structures ('The data represent to how fabric made'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces missing after commas and periods. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. A greater focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips is necessary.
