IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagram illustrates the process of how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Overall the manufacturing consists of nine steps beginning with the spring season and ending with the production of new items .The main stages include harvesting, filtration, crushing, spinning and weaving . Initially, the bamboo is planted in the spring season and in the autumn season it is harvested . These bamboo is being cut in strips with the help of machine . Once done the crushed strips are being pulled out to make liquid pulp and with the help of filtration long fibers are being separated from the liquid . At this point the fibers are being soften with the help of mixture of water and amine oxide . In the final stage spinning is done to make yarn and the yarn is weaving to produce fabric and once the fabric is done clothes are being produced such as t-shirts and socks and are ready to sell in the markets .
