The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagram elucidates the process of converting bamboo fibres into fine fabric.

Overall there are 9 prominent manufacturing steps.

Initiating with the first step which is planting bamboo shoots during its peak season which is spring. Afterwards it is harvested manually via farmers in its harvesting season (Autumn).

Further, the bulk is sent for the cutting process in which long stems are chopped into thin strips that eventually are crushed under a thresher to extract liquid formed pulp from the strips then long fibres are separated out from the bamboo puree via filtration machine. On the sixth part gallons of water is added to the fibres and amine oxide mixed in it to soften up the rigid threads. The soft strands get spun into a spinner to produce a ball of yarn from it . A metre long fabric is woven from two balls of yarn. further it is sent to the commercial industries to make clothes from it .
