IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how fabric is manufactured from bamboo.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The diagram illustrates the process of using bamboo to manufacture fabric for clothes.

Overall, the process consists of nine steps in total, which starts from planting the baboo, then cutting it into thin strips, after which it goes through various processes to make yarn, which is then used to make clothes.

The process starts with planting bamboo plants in spring, and then harvesting it in autumn, after which the plant is cut into strips, and then the strips are crushed to make liquid pupl.

After the bamboo is converted to liquid pulp, it goes through a filter to seperate the fibers. After this point, water and amine oxide are added to the long fibers to soften them.

Once the fibers are soft, it is spinned to make yarn, which is then weaved to make fabric. After the fabric is ready, it can be used to make various kind of clothes.
