Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to describe the process of manufacturing bamboo fabric, but it fails to provide a clear, logical overview of the stages. While the main steps are mentioned, the description is often confusing and repetitive, such as the redundant mention of 'crushing' and 'strips'. The response lacks a clear summary of the key features, and the inclusion of irrelevant commentary about 'legislations' and 'lethargic steps' detracts from the task. The information is not presented in a professional or objective manner suitable for an Academic Task 1 report.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks logical progression. Paragraphing is poor; the introduction is merged with the body, and the conclusion is weak. Cohesive devices are used mechanically or incorrectly, such as 'After going through such terminology' and 'In these five steps are performed'. The referencing is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the sequence of the manufacturing process. The flow of ideas is disjointed, and the lack of clear transition between the stages of the diagram significantly hinders readability.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. There is a frequent misuse of terminology, such as 'factors of plants', 'proper legislations', and 'lethargic steps', which are inappropriate for a technical description. Spelling errors are frequent (e.g., 'methodolgies', 'consquencescrush', 'yam', 'chloths', 'trouzers'). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe the process with precision, and the reliance on repetitive, basic words makes the writing style appear informal and imprecise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are issues with sentence structure, such as run-on sentences and fragments (e.g., 'In these five steps are performed accurately for better consquencescrush all the strips and spin it to make a yam in round shape'). Subject-verb agreement is inconsistent, and punctuation is largely ignored, with missing spaces after periods and incorrect capitalization. The range of structures is limited, and the errors are pervasive throughout the text, indicating a lack of control over basic sentence construction.
