Student answer (Band 5.5)

The diagram illustrates man made manufacturing process of bamboo fabric from bamboo plant.

Overall, It can be seen that this is the linear process with full nine steps. Starts with the planting bamboo plants and ends with the making wearable clothes. It is very complicated and time consuming process.

First of all, Plants of bamboo is planted in agricultural land in spring session. Than wait for the grow till the Autumn and as soon as plant become grown farmers harvest all the adult plants and send for the cutting and process. In this step all the bamboos cuts into strips with the machine.

substantially, All the strips crushed into liquid pulp and in fifth stage pulp undergoes for the filtration process. During filtration all the long fibers are separate from liquid. On the next step water and Amine Oxide added into fibers. This process provide more softness to fibers, After this it sent for spinning process, at the end of the spinning yarn were made. Yarn underwent for the weaving and fabric were made, with this fabric in to the last stage wearable clothes would be prepaid.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main stages of the bamboo manufacturing process, from planting to the final product. However, the description is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear overview of the transformation process. While the key stages are identified, the response misses some technical details shown in the diagram, such as the specific chemical additives or the distinction between the physical and chemical stages. The tone is appropriate for an academic report, but the analysis could be more precise in highlighting the transition from raw material to finished fabric.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the process. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes awkward or mechanical, such as 'substantially' used as a transition at the start of a paragraph, or 'Than' instead of 'Then'. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the referencing between sentences could be smoother. Some sentences feel disjointed, and the connection between the stages of the process could be improved with more varied linking words to show the sequence of events more clearly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for a higher band. There are several word-choice errors, such as 'man made manufacturing process' (which is redundant), 'spring session' (instead of 'season'), and 'prepaid' (instead of 'prepared'). While the student successfully uses technical terms like 'filtration', 'spinning', and 'weaving', the overall range is limited. The repetition of basic verbs and the misuse of certain terms prevent the response from demonstrating a more sophisticated command of language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Plants of bamboo is planted'), incorrect verb forms ('bamboos cuts into strips'), and awkward phrasing ('yarn were made'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction limits the score in this criterion.
